From the twinkle of an idea to the gathering of a team, from the doubts and discoveries to the artistry, care and countless hours of rehearsal—Tirra Lirra by the River is ready for its first audience.

What a privilege it is to make theatre. To gather together in the darkness and be transported by a story. This is a beautiful, delicate and deeply moving new adaptation of Jessica Anderson's Miles Franklin Award-winning novel, brought to life by an extraordinary team of artists.

Tonight, a major new work premieres at Byron Theatre.

We couldn't be prouder to share Tirra Lirra by the River with our community over the next two weekends. It is a rare gift to have a work of this calibre premiering in our own backyard.

Bravo to the entire company, and chookas for opening night. 🎭
