“As a midwife I realised that one of the places we need to focus to heal birth, is the menarche.
One rite of passage leads to the next. She who was initiated into womanhood at menarche is the woman, completely enculturated in how she is supposed to behave as a woman to be accepted, it is she who shows up to the Birth altar to give birth. An empowering initiation into womanhood will change the way Birth happens. And as women, it is our responsibility to welcome our daughters to womanhood in an empowering way.” -

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pulsating with creation, may we recognise the wisdom and inherent power that lies within the womb. May we support our sisters and daughters to cultivate a deeper relationship with each cycle. Each bleed, an invitation to take rest and be renewed through this process of death and birth. May it be a practice that uproots disconnect & fundamentally ripples into the life of the woman… May we raise empowered women now, for the future❤️
Meet your facilitators!
Hi I’m Dani, I am the cofounder of Pollinate and will be facilitating “Seeds of Becoming” these summer holidays along side Iyari!
That’s me smack bang in the middle of the photo, approximately 3 years ago when I still had hair on my head and I was working as a facilitator for OVP, another local youth organisation in The Byron Shire.
I’ve worked with hundreds of youth across the Northern Rivers as both a 1:1 mentor and facilitator for in school programs.
My passion and focus now is on young women, hence why we created Pollinate.
My vision is to create safe spaces for teenage girls where they can come to learn, discover and celebrate all the parts of the journey through adolescence that can feel quite isolating, confusing and scary.
My main passions are in holistic s*x education and womb health.
Topics within these include how to communicate and sustain healthy boundaries in relationships, pleasure for women and intimacy without the misconstrued lens of p0rnography.
I am also very passionate about women’s health, particularly in the area of menstrual cycles, hormonal health and the importance of caring for our bodies for our overall health and well-being.
I’m so excited to be back in the workshop space in less than a weeks time!
Look forward to meeting some of you there.
Tickets and more info available through the link in our bio.
Love Dani
7 DAYS LEFT!
Until our workshop for teenage girls kicks off at Byron Bay YAC
Our workshops are a wonderful experience and safe space where girls can build new friendships while also discovering new things about themselves and learn tools to help them live their best life.
Designed for girls aged 13 - 17 who are curious about their ever-evolving bodies particularly in the areas of s*xuality, body confidence and periods.
Our workshops offer practical, holistic, educational, fun and empowering tools for teens.
We are the bridge between parents and teachers. Information for young people created by young people.
We take an older sister approach and create an environment where teen girls feel comfortable to open up and talk about the challenging topics and themes of adolescence.
We know how overwhelming, isolating and confusing this time can be! We've all been there, so we've created our workshops based off what we and all our friends say we wish we had access to as teenagers.
The sorts of topics we are passionate about:
1. Holistic s*x ed - boundaries & consent and how to communicate effectively for healthy relationships and s*xual encounters
2. Periods! What are they, how do we make them less shameful and painful?
3. The female body. What are we made up of, how does It all work and how can we look after it to stay healthy and happy?
We are here to support teenage girls to have healthier periods for 2022 so that they don’t have to suffer through the terrible period pain, acne, nausea, PMS and other irregular symptoms so many young girls are facing.
With these 5 tips, teenage girls will experience overall better health which will help them be able to focus better at school, have more energy, more regular periods, better confidence, less anxiety, steadier emotions and so much more!
If you are in the Byron Bay Shire or the surrounding area we have our first workshop on Jan 13th. This will introduce the girls to the three themes of Pollinate: body image, menstruation & s*xuality. Individual workshops on each of these topics available later in the year.
Head to the link in bio to learn more and purchase a ticket for your daughters.
In 2015 The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and American Academy of Pediatrics issued a statement called “Menstruation in Girls and Adolescents: Using the Menstrual Cycle as a Vital Sign.
In it they state: “Identification of abnormal menstruation patterns in adolescences may improve early identification of potential health concerns for adulthood.”
The AOCG says doctors should always ask patients about menstruation and should advise girls to chart their cycles.
The period is now being recognised as a woman’s fifth vital sign.
Meaning…your period is a reflection of your overall health. Fix your health and you will fix your period.
This is what we share with the girls who come to our workshops. We show them how to chart their menstrual cycles and what symptoms to look for that are signs of either a healthy or unhealthy period. We provide them with holistic support and tools that are proven from case study after case study to support women’s overall health and wellbeing which helps with things like bad period pain, PMS and more serious issues like Endometriosis and PCOS. We provide these resources as a way to help them prevent the development of possible health concerns later on in life.
Want to learn more? We have our introductory workshop January 13th in Byron Bay.
