🎭 June 2026 at Byron Theatre

With so much rain it’s probably time to look for stuff to do inside, and Byron Theatre has you covered this June. We’re very excited to bring you some unmissable performances from across the whole performing arts spectrum:

• Tirra Lirra by the River (June 5–13) – A new adaptation of Jessica Anderson’s Australian classic from Fairbairn + Wild Productions and Byron Theatre Company, starring Toni Scanlan, Waangenga Blanco and Pirie Outridge

• Echoes: The George Greenough Experience Show (June 19) – One-night-only fundraising screening of eight curated surf films by George Greenough

• The Road to Patagonia – Encore (June 20) – A powerful documentary following a 50,000km journey from Alaska to Patagonia

• Destination Byron 2026 Symposium (June 25) – A full-day of conversation exploring the future of Byron Bay

• Amalfi Roast – Encore (June 26 & 27) – A sold-out one-woman music comedy returning by popular demand

• Waangenga Blanco Movement Masterclass (June 28) – A full-day intensive for experienced movers exploring choreography and embodied performance

From theatre and film to ideas, comedy and movement, June at Byron Theatre is not to be missed.

Announcing: Echoes – The George Greenough Experience Show

Before surf cameras were everywhere, George Greenough was changing the way we saw the ocean.

This one-night-only screening brings together eight short films curated by Greenough himself, capturing pioneering surf footage, ocean adventures, dolphins, deep tube riding and moments that still feel timeless decades later.

A rare chance to experience the work of a true innovator on the big screen, with all profits supporting Liberation Larder.
