Brisbane Tool Library

Brisbane Tool Library Borrow tools, camping gear, party appliances... the Brisbane Tool Library offers a circular model! This project is based on reusing, repairing, recycling.

The Brisbane Tool Library is a social enterprise that provides resources, such as tools , camping gear, party appliances, sport equipment. People who do occasional home improvements, garden or camping trips, but do not want to buy a tool that they might only use once, could borrow it from our tool library. The main goal is to go beyond the material consumption of the current linear model of “take,

make and dispose”. As social enterprise we aim to:

1) Provides access to specialized tools where ownership of the tool is cost prohibitive
2) Enhance environmental sustainability, decreasing material consumption
3) Help build resilient neighbourhoods
4) Employ disadvantaged people & create social stability
5) Move toward a new sharing and circular economy

Yesterday our fabulous team of volunteers did a big clean up!
Maintaining in circulation objects requires lots of behind the scene work. Cleaning, repairing, tidying and many other tasks are all essential to keep our inventory ready for all of you to borrow.

If you’re keen to volunteer and join these legends, email us. We always seek new team members for different tasks. From marketing to tools maintenance, everyone could help in different ways. Email: [email protected]

Design Your Own Apparel: Intro to Screen Printing Workshop

Screen printing allows you to create unique, custom designs on all sorts of materials—clothing, posters, tote bags, and more. It’s a hands-on way to express your creativity, whether you're designing for yourself, your community group, or as an artist.

Join us for a hands-on fabric screen printing workshop at the Brisbane Tool Library in Northshore, where you’ll learn the basics in a relaxed 2–2.5 hour session.

We’ll kick things off by explaining how to build your own screen printing frame using basic carpentry tools from our inventory. Then, working in pairs using pre-made Tool Library stencils, you'll create two fabric prints: one to keep and one for us!
