These adorable pups are Dingoes, and they're only about 5 weeks old! It’s important to remember that dingoes can have a range of coat colors, which often leads to confusion. Many people mistakenly identify dingo pups as abandoned pets.

These little dingo pups were found by the roadside, and I can’t emphasise enough the need for awareness. If you spot pups alone during this time of year, please seek advice before intervening. Unlike domestic dogs, dingoes breed only once a year, with pups typically born between June and August/September. Monitoring the area for their parents before taking any action is crucial.

These tiny pups are healthy and well-groomed, showing no signs of ticks, mites, or dingo lice, just a few fleas. Dingoes are attentive parents who keep their young well groomed, clean and cared for.

Two little females! If you’d like to help name the little white girl, please share your suggestions. The other one has been named Ember, inspired by her stunning amber coat and dark features.

Baturday! Do you have an outdoor umbrella? Microbats love them as they're perfect for staying dry and safe during the day. If you encounter microbat squatters you have two options:
1) leave them alone and enjoy your landlord status! They are better than any insect control options you can buy from Bunnings;
2) quietly open the umbrella at night (and leave it open) and let the microbats find a new roost.
However! Never open the umbrella during the day as that can disorientate the night creatures. They then become food for local predators.

Severe Weather ⛈️ DAMAGING WINDS and HIGH FIRE DANGER

Damaging winds for For people in Illawarra and parts of South Coast.

A strong northwesterly flow will develop during early this morning ahead of a cold front that will sweep over southern parts of the state during the day. Winds will tend westerly during this evening in the wake of the front.

​​​​​​​For the ILLAWARRA, SOUTH COAST and northern parts of the COASTAL RANGES: Strong winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS around 90 km/h are forecast to develop from the late morning.

Winds are expected to ease throughout the warning area late this afternoon or early evening.

Locations which may be affected include Wollongong, Nowra, Bowral, Katoomba, Kiama and Ulladulla.

Due to unseasonably warm and windy conditions today, the Fire Danger Rating has been raised to High for the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands

Meet little Stanley! 💚🐾

Little Stanley was found abandoned inside an old house that was ready for demolition. 🏚️

A friend of ours contacted Ricardo after finding this little fella, and thankfully they were able to safely drop him off to Ricardo.

This little lucky brushtail possum has certainly been given a second chance! ❤️

Stanley is now safely in care with a well-trained WIRES carer, where he will receive all the love, warmth and specialised care he needs.

We are so grateful that Stanley was found before it was too late. Wildlife can often seek shelter in old houses, sheds and buildings, so it’s always important to check carefully before demolition or renovations begin.
