Yesterday we held a wonderful Soup ‘n Slice fund raising event supporting A Taste of Paradise Farm.

The Farm is a “not for profit” locally based, registered charity which has been operating since 1999. “The Farm” operates a day program for troubled young people which incorporates Assisted Animal Therapy, One on One Mentoring and Horticultural training.

Berry CWA thanks our local community who supported the event. As you can see by the attached photos we had a packed house, and raised a considerable sum for the Farm.

Yesterday we celebrated our 75th anniversary. It was on the 11 April 1951 that the Berry Branch of the CWA held its inaugural meeting. That was the beginning of a vibrant active branch that has grown and supported the community continuously for 75 years.
To celebrate this important 75th anniversary we will hold an official event later in the year so watch this page for details.

Some photos from our first handicraft workshop. We also had a visit from some staff and students from North Nowra Primary School. We donated several of bolts of fabric to the school for costumes for their dance group and also to be used by other creative arts groups at the school. The fabric came from one of our members who generously donated it.

Berry CWA will be running free craft workshops for members of the community during the month of APRIL. If you want help with a knitting project, want to learn how to crochet or sew or even make a gift for Mother’s Day (see some suggestions below) please come along. You may have a child, grandchild or friend who is on school holidays - bring them too!
As there are several Wednesdays in April there will be no rush to complete your project. There may be a small fee for any material we supply but it won’t be much and we do give you a cuppa, cake and a laugh for free. As an added incentive, Robyn will make her famous scones on our first workshop day. Sometimes we are just tea and scones!
Dates: Every Wednesday in April except 22 April when we will be running a fundraiser for A Taste of Paradise Farm. (Why not come to that too?)
Time: 9-12noon
Venue: Berry CWA Hall, 79 Victoria St., Berry
Questions: Contact Joan at [email protected]
Workshops start next Wednesday 1 April.
