A series of Sunday-afternoon public conversations with well-known authors and cultural figures as first held in Berry in 2016. The inaugural Berry Conversation will be held on Sunday April 17th featuring Angus Trumble, Director of the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra. Recently elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, he has also been Curator of European Art at the Art

Gallery of South Australia and Senior Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the Yale Center for British Art. Widely recognized as a witty, erudite, and entertaining public speaker, Angus is the author of several books and was the host of a 2015 ten-part series on Australian portraits for Radio National’s Books & Arts Program. He will be in conversation with Mary Cunnane, a former book publisher and Angus’ long-time literary agent. Prize-winning novelist David Malouf will be the second speaker in the series, appearing in conversation with Professor Nicholas Jose of Adelaide University, himself a noted novelist, on Sunday, September 11th.

“In Conversation with Angus Trumble” will be held at the architecturally innovative, multi-award winning Berry Sports & Recreation Hall on Sunday, April 17 from 2 to 4pm. The event will include a Q&A with the audience, as well as refreshments. Tickets may be purchased from the Berry Music Store or on at Trybooking.com, where the link is: http://www.trybooking.com/KJMC . Proceeds after expenses will be donated to a local not-for-profit community organization.
