Berry Mens Shed Inc The Shed is a community project, open to both men and women, established by Berry Uniting Church. Most elect to work only on community projects.

Berry Men's Shed was established in 2005 by Berry Uniting Church in response to a perceived need in the Shoalhaven for men and women who had recently retired to share in meaningful community projects that benefit themselves and the community. The Shed's aim is to improve member's sense of self worth and their practical and interpersonal skills, while contributing to the community. Members work in a fully mechanised wood and metal workshop and are committed to work on community projects, tasks to advance the purpose of the shed and their own personal projects. The Shed has a non-discriminatory policy, welcoming men and women of any age. There is an annual membership fee of $25.00, plus $2.00 each day of attendance, which covers the cost of morning & afternoon tea.

Last Thursday, Mens Shed members and visitors took part in a bus trip to Port Kembla Steelworks as part of an Inside Industry tour. We saw giant machinery, huge piles of raw materials, the slab caster and then the steel slabs were rolled into giant coils. It was a great tour capped off with lovely lunch at the Windang Bowling Club. 👍
