🏏 BSHCC SENIORS – ROUND 2 RECAP

Another weekend of cricket for the Berry-Shoalhaven Heads Cricket Club seniors, with a washout in 1st Grade and impressive wins for both 3rd and 4th Grade!

1ST GRADE
Berry-Shoalhaven Heads vs Ulladulla

Unfortunately, this match was washed out due to the weather. 🌧️

3RD GRADE – A WINNING PERFORMANCE!

BSHCC 1/61 defeated North Nowra Cambewarra 58

A strong all-round performance saw 3rd Grade bowl out North Nowra Cambewarra for just 58 before chasing down the target with only one wicket down!

With the ball:
Darian Capobianco – 3/14 off 4 overs
Michael Haddon – 2 wickets
Lachlan Rosenberg – 2 wickets

With the bat:
Wade Butler – 28* (31), including 4️⃣ fours and 1️⃣ six
Aaron Coutts-Smith – 20 (18), including 3️⃣ fours and 1️⃣ six

4TH GRADE – RUN-FEST!

BSHCC 7/266 defeated Bay & Basin 9/246

In a high-scoring contest, 4th Grade put together an impressive total of 266 before restricting Bay & Basin to 246 to secure a great win!

Callum Downes – 94 (84), including 1️⃣6️⃣ fours and 1️⃣ six. So close to a well-deserved century! 👏
Paul Eyland – 27* (18), including 4️⃣ fours and 1️⃣ six

🏏 A FAMILY MILESTONE AT BSHCC! 🖤🤍

Back in 2017, the Page family — father Brad and sons Christian and Matthew — decided to pull on the pads and start their cricket journey with Berry-Shoalhaven Heads Cricket Club, making their debuts together in 4th Grade.

Fast forward 9 years, and yesterday the trio achieved something pretty special, with all three making their 1st Grade debuts for the club! 🏏👏

From starting out in 4th Grade to working their way up to the top grade together, this is a fantastic achievement and a testament to their dedication, hard work and commitment to the club over the years.

Congratulations Brad, Christian and Matthew on reaching this milestone. An achievement the whole club can be proud of! 👏🖤🤍

🏏 BSHCC ROUND 1 SENIOR RESULTS 🖤🤍

A cracking start to the 2026/27 season for Berry-Shoalhaven Heads Cricket Club, with plenty of individual performances and a nail-biting finish in 4th Grade!

🏏 1ST GRADE

NNCCC 176 defeated BSHCC 128

A tough opening outing for 1st Grade, but plenty of positives with six players making their 1st Grade debuts for the club!

Brad Page led the bowling attack on debut, taking an outstanding 4/7 off 6.5 overs.

Captain Callum Collings also made an impact with 3/46 off 9 overs before leading the batting effort with 35 (30). Daniel Troy provided support with a valuable 32 (47).

Congratulations to all six debutants on reaching this milestone!

🏏 3RD GRADE

BSHCC 7/270 defeated B&BCC 105

A dominant performance from the boys in 3rd Grade!

Filling in as captain, Aaron Coutts-Smith led from the front with a brilliant 90 (80), while Rob Ringland chipped in with an impressive 49 (35) to help post a massive total of 270.

The bowlers then got the job done, with Michael Haddon ripping through the opposition with 4/11 off 7 overs, supported by club debutant Josh Di Camillo, who grabbed 3/8 off just 3 overs!

A fantastic all-round team performance!

🏏 4TH GRADE

BSHCC 9/179 defeated UUCC 9/178

You can’t get much closer than that! What a way to kick off the season!

With the bat, Michael Howard led the way with a strong 59, while Stephen Ball contributed a valuable 52 to help set a competitive total.

With the ball, Simon Chaplin claimed 3/15 off 6 overs, while Stephen Ball backed up his batting effort with 3/34 off 6 overs.

The boys held their nerve to secure a thrilling one-run victory! 🏆

Well done vinnie great tournament 

Unfortunately no wins for the under 12's Shoalhaven side yesterday but some positive signs for the team going forward.
In their first game against the Rams they batted first and got off to a steady start but runs were hard to find late in the innings ended with 2/77. Vinnie Federici top scored with 31 off 30 balls.
A few too many extras helped the Rams side pass the score in the 15th over to finish 1/79. Abbey Beck was the lone wicket taker.

The second game against Highlands, Shoalhaven batted first and a few early wicket hurt but Vinnie Federici came in to save the innings with 50 off 56 balls to get our side to 7/92.
The team tried hard but struggled to take early chances, Highlands passed the score in the 18th over to finish 4/93. Abbey, Jacob, Hamish and Lucia all taking a wicket each.

Today's morning game the team take on Illawarra.

The under 14's Shoalhaven/storm side also had two tough losses yesterday. In the first game against SE Storm they fielded first restricting the storm to 5/89. Charles Meagher the best of the bowlers with 2/10. Unfortunately our team could only manage 5/63 off their 20 overs. Brycin Suhr with 19 runs was the top scorer.

The second game was a tough one against South Coast who managed a massive score of 3/171. Lennox and Bayin Wills both taking a wicket each.
Again the side was restricted to 8/63 in return.
Archie Richards the top Shoalhaven run scorer with 20 runs.

Today the side is taking on the Highlands.

Vale William Charles Moffatt

Moffo first joined Berry-Shoalhaven Heads Cricket Club in 1994-95 at the age of 50. In the grand final he took 4/29 from 27 overs in the Bomaderry innings of 210, and then hit an even-time 32 to be at the crease when Berry won with five wickets in hand – its first premiership in 42 years.
He accepted the Bob Jennings Medal for player of the match; an award he would win again in 1999-2000 after a remarkable performance. Batting first on their home ground, Berry was in serious trouble at 9/86 against Central Districts when last man Luke Bramley came to the crease. Bill batted 228 minutes, scoring 64 from 245 balls and the pair added 53 before the overs ran out. Completing a remarkable double, Bill then took 3/22 from 19.4 overs and his team won by 25 runs.

The 2001-02 season saw him with the rare distinction of taking two hat-tricks – against Ex-Servicemen in round five against Ex-Servic men, and in round 14 against Ulladulla United.

A year later he won the association allrounder award and dominant in the final series, he top-scored with 44 and also took 7/23 in the semi-final victory over North Nowra-Cambewarra; then had a double of 22 and 3/25 in the grand final against Ex-Servicemen to win another premiership.

Starting 2003-04 in second grade, Bill’s form demanded a return to firsts where he was a key player in another grand final. From 31 overs, he had figures of 2/33 and was later at the crease when Berry took the match over Bomaderry with four wickets in hand.

After several.summers of "retirement" Moffo returned to play 2010-11, a summer when he played in Shoalhaven’s first ever over 60s match, he was part of the first grade grand final that saw Berry tie with old rival, Bomaderry.

There would be another grand final a year later – his tenth with the club. His overall stats with Berry across 1st & 2nd grades reveal more than 1440 runs with eight half-centuries, 275 wickets and 53 catches.

All this after long and storied career in Sydney with Randwick Petersham Cricket Club and inIllawarra Cricket with Kiera Cricket Club and Dapto Cricket Club.

All those that played with and against Moffo will remember his competitive nature and true love for the game.

🏏 2026/27 SENIOR GRADE CAPTAINS 🖤🤍

With the 2026/27 season fast approaching, we’re pleased to announce our senior grade leadership group for the upcoming season!

1st Grade – Callum Collings
Callum has been a big part of BSHCC since joining the club four seasons ago and takes on the 1st Grade captaincy for the first time. We’re looking forward to seeing him lead the side this season.

3rd Grade – Ethan Cain
Ethan returns as 3rd Grade captain after leading the side last season. His experience in the role will be valuable as the team looks to another successful season.

4th Grade – Paul Eyland & Trent Redlich
Paul and Trent continue as our 4th Grade co-captains, having shared the role for several seasons. Their continued leadership and commitment to the team is a fantastic asset for the club.

A big congratulations to Callum, Ethan, Paul and Trent! 👏

We’re looking forward to seeing our senior sides take the field and represent Berry-Shoalhaven Heads Cricket Club throughout the 2026/27 season.
