The sky might be grey, but it's all about teamwork and opportunity at the Nursery!

Bella and Brenton have been working hard on a new garden bed for the retail store. After a large tree came down, they’ve given some of the timber a new life, creating a unique habitat to complement some potted natives.

Meanwhile, over in hand potting, Robbie has been developing his mentoring skills while working alongside work experience students from Yarra Ranges Special Development School.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for Robbie to share the skills, knowledge and experience he has built up over his many years at the nursery, while supporting the next generation of young people to explore the world of work.

Explorers is a regular group outing where clients come together to explore new places, try different activities, and connect with their community. At the beginning of each season, participants help plan upcoming adventures, whether that's visiting an art gallery, heading to the zoo, or enjoying a special activity they've chosen together.

Last week, Knoxbrooke Nursery welcomed a visit from Tasty Az 🍽️, a locally based not-for-profit catering and hospitality social enterprise that provides education and training opportunities for people with disability.

The group enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the nursery, learning about the important work that goes into growing and caring for our plants every day.

To finish their visit, they explored our retail store and picked up plenty of herbs to plant in their gardens and use in their cooking.

A big thank you to Tasty Az for visiting us! 🤝 We love connecting with organisations that share our vision of creating meaningful opportunities and employment pathways for people with disability.

Having been part of the Knoxbrooke team for 10 years, Larelle has seen her role evolve alongside the organisation.
One thing that hasn't changed is her appreciation for the supportive team environment and being part of a high-quality disability service.

While her role focuses on invoicing and accounts, it's the people she enjoys most. Larelle loves connecting with families and industry partners, sharing a friendly chat and helping navigate the NDIS journey together. 💜
