Hello to our wonderful With One Voice Bayswater community,

We are performing a gig this Sunday for the Sing-a-Long-a-Thon and we would love for you to come and support us – or if you’re a member of our choir, let us know if you’d like to perform with us!

We will be at the lovely Heathmont Farmers Market – located at Great Ryrie Primary School, 51A Great Ryrie St, Heathmont

When: This Sunday the 22nd of March
We will be singing from around 9.30am-12.00pm/12.30pm (with breaks throughout of course)

What is the Sing-a-Long-a-Thon? Throughout the month of March each of the 26 With One Voice Australia choirs around the country will perform a bunch of well-known, sing-a-long songs somewhere in a public space or at a public event. The aim is to raise awareness and funds, as well as promoting joy, connection and wellbeing by inviting the public to sing along with us!

***Extra info for those performing with us:

I was so very proud of our group at dear Neil’s funeral today. It is the first time these friends have sung at a funeral and they were brought into the fold in the most lovely gentle way possible. Our dear Neil was sent off in great style!

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of dear Neil Gardner, one of our singers. He absolutely adored choir and we have some beautiful videos with him in the choir that will be played at his upcoming funeral - that we will sing along with ('Amazing'). We'll sing other songs too: Amazing Grace, Hallelujah, I would walk 500 miles, Amazing, Farewell Ye Friends.

Neil had been a musician before his ABI and found deep peace and joy in singing with us each week.
We welcome any of the WOV choir family to come and sing with us at Neil's funeral. The more singers, the better.

From TLC:

We are currently planning to have it outside – though If the weather is in any way questionable on the day, we will have it all inside.
A stage will be created with our stage blocks under the verandah facing out onto the grass and a cordoned off area in the carpark. The audience can sit on the grass or on seats which will be available.
We will have a good digital piano set up there, along with about 20 seats for a choir. A sound system will also be set up. You are welcome to use these. Set up for all of this will happen Sunday morning. You’re welcome to drop in anytime to see how it looks.
We will have a BBQ, coffee and cakes, an ice-cream van and kids and family activities from 4:30pm.

On Tuesday evening Erin Winter, Bonnie Milne and Lesa Parker had the opportunity to attend Bendigo Bank Ringwood, Boronia and Bayswater's Community Grant event where the choir was presented with a generous grant; and also had the opportunity to share with other amazing local community groups about who we are and what we do!

The news was shared at choir the following evening and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to capture some fun group photos. 😁

We are absolutely thrilled and very grateful to Bendigo Bank Ringwood, Boronia and Bayswater for their support.
This grant will help us enormously, and will ensure that we can continue to do what we do best: Changing the world and changing lives through the power of community singing! 🎼
