This Children’s Week, we’re celebrating all the children across Y Ballarat, from our kindergartens and Early Learning Centres, to our Outside School Hours Care programs.

We believe every child deserves to feel valued, included and empowered to share their thoughts, make choices and shape the world around them. 💜 Through play, connection and discovery, we’re helping children build confidence, friendships and a strong sense of belonging.

Because when children are heard, their potential is endless.

The sun is out, and it's the perfect time to pick yourself up a bike! ☀️

❤️ Did you know that every ReCranked bike goes through a thorough safety check before being rehomed? Our incredible volunteers have years of experience and qualifications in bike maintenance, testing each bike before it gets sent away. Each new owner will also receive a brand new bike helmet.

We are kindly not accepting bike donations at present. Open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2-5pm, find us at: yballarat.org.au/recranked 🚲

We're excited to share a new chapter for the Y, in collaboration with The Y Australia.

It Starts Here is about how every day, something starts at the Y. A child’s first swim. A first friendship at kinder. A young person finding the confidence to grow, lead and what success looks like to them. Walking through our doors and finding a place to belong.

It brings the whole Y together behind one idea: when people find their place with us, they discover what they are capable of.

You’ll soon see it on screens, outdoor and transit advertising, social media and our website. It isn’t a one-off campaign. It’s the story we’ll tell together for years to come. ❤️

This World Mental Health Day, the Y Ballarat recognises the importance of mental health and the role we all play in building supportive, connected communities.

This year’s theme, Together We Thrive, highlights the value of connection, understanding and looking out for one another. Creating environments where people feel safe, included and supported can make a meaningful difference to wellbeing.

At Y Ballarat, we value belonging and respect and are committed to fostering opportunities for people of all ages to connect and feel supported.

Today and for the month of October, we remind one another to prioritise mental health, check in with those around us and help create a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Throughout every Y Ballarat School Holiday Program, we are fortunate to welcome a range of special guests who provide interactive and engaging experiences for the children.

This spring, we were thrilled to welcome Christina from Natyatharu Dance School to our Woodlea service, and Ben from STEM Monsters to Woodlea, Ballarat and Ararat!

Through lively dance workshops and hands-on science experiments, both incursions gave children the opportunity to learn, explore and connect in a fun and memorable way, discovering Bharatanatyam dance moves and creating their own mini lava lamps!

Thank you to Ben and Christina for your time, knowledge and enthusiasm - we would love to see you back at our services soon! 😍💜
