Bairnsdale View Club VIEW offers a friendship network, providing fun and a sense of purpose for members through supporting the education of disadvantaged Australian children.

As a leading voice and valued support network for women, VIEW creates social capital in Australian communities. A valued part of the Smith Family VIEW clubs of Australia is a leading women's volunteer organisation and support network that empowers women to have their voices heard on issues of importance in Australian society. men across Australia belong to VIEW. VIEW is the only national women's organisation solely focused on supporting and advocating for the education of young disadvantaged Australians It is a non-religious, non-political organisation. VIEW provides women with the opportunity to meet regularly with other women from all walks of life, establish lasting friends and help disadvantaged Australian children through supporting the work of children's charity, The Smith Family. Education and leadership opportunities are also part of the VIEW offering, in addition to the chance to be purposeful in supporting community need. VIEW is a valued part of the Smith Family. Through social, community and fundraising activities VIEW members have supported the work of The Smith Family for more than 50 years. More than 16,000 members across Australia, VIEW's reach and networks in local communities help to raise awareness and strengthen the impact of the work of The Smith Family. VIEW is proud to be The Smith Family's single largest community sponsor of Learning for Life Students. Nationally, VIEW members sponsor more than 1,100 disadvantaged students, enabling them to get the most from their education through assistance and support from The Smith Family's Learning for Life program. We do this because we believe that by helping disadvantaged children succeed at school, we can have a lasting impact on their lives and potential generations to come.

🌟 Mayor Cr Jodie Ashworth loves nothing more than getting out into the community and last week's visit to the Bairnsdale VIEW Club June meeting was a great reminder why.

VIEW Clubs (Voice, Interests and Education of Women) bring local women together while raising vital funds for The Smith Family's Learning for Life program and the Bairnsdale club currently sponsors 20 local students, helping change the trajectory of young lives right here in our region.

The Mayor took the chance to share a little about her own journey too, from small business and tourism to financial counselling, and what's shaped her approach as your Mayor as well as presenting on their club's chosen topic which was Council's Homes for Everyone position paper.

Thank you to the Bairnsdale VIEW Club for the warm welcome - we love seeing the difference organisations like yours make within our community💛

What a great day our members had today hosting our Mother's Day Market for 2026. Members cooked, baked, created, stitched, grew, assembled and SOLD so many wonderful items to our fabulous community members, supporters and friends of Bairnsdale VIEW Club. Bairnsdale VIEW Club ladies, friends and families, only 6 more sleeps until our 'Mother's Day Market' next Saturday 9th May at Lucknow Memorial Hall from 8.30am until 2pm. Please spread the word. There will be beautiful floral arrangements from our very talented florist Blazenka with her special assistant Madlin, lots of crafts and gifts focused on the special ladies in our lives organised by Sandy and Sue, delicious cakes, slices and sweet treats on the cake stall run by Denise, Kathie and Peggie and a variety of plants for your gardens on the plant stall run by Liz. And a raffle with lots of Mother's Day prizes. Please come along and support our wonderful Program Committee who have been busy organising our fundraiser to support our 20 'Learning for Life' students.

At our April General Meeting, members of The Smith Family Bairnsdale came and spoke to our members about the programs they manage and the support provided to children and families across the region and the state. So interesting for our members to hear about this and have their questions answered. Equally important was the opportunity for our TSF colleagues and our members to have the opportunity to deepen our relationships. Thanks for coming, Amanda, Kim & Natasha.

Bairnsdale VIEW Club ladies and friends, save the date 'Saturday 9th May' in your diaries. We are holding our 'Mother's Day Market' at Lucknow Memorial Hall from 8.30am -2.00pm. We will have a wonderful array of cakes, slices, jams and chutneys, floral arrangements, plants, crafts and gifts and a coffee van for a warming morning coffee. We will also have a raffle on the day.
The Program Committee would appreciate all your support baking for the cake stall, potting plants, sewing, crocheting/knitting gifts for the craft table and assisting on the day.

On behalf of the Program Committee, a very big thank you to all our wonderful Bairnsdale VIEW Club ladies for your very generous donations of chocolate bunnies, eggs and items for our 'Easter Raffle' prizes. Also for your huge effort in selling so many raffle tickets.
We raised an amazing $813.00 which gives our fundraising year a terrific start, to support our 20 'Learning for Life' students. Congratulations to the ladies in the photo and lucky ticket holders.
