An event for young (aged 6+) and old this Saturday evening.

The escape of Musa (a.s) and his people from the tyrant is a lived experience that still reverberates in our world today. The performance, carefully checked by scholars, invites young and old to glimpse Allah, Mighty and Majestic’s loving intentions for His creation and to identify themselves as proud and grateful Muslims.

“Ustadha Maryam’s stories are beautiful and they touch hearts. There is simply nothing like this out there.” - Hamza Karamali, Basira Education

Content guidance: While suitable for families, the story of Fir’aun and Musa contains some intense themes and moments that may be unsettling for very young children (under 6 years old). Parents and carers are encouraged to use their discretion.

As a new Hijri year enters, we reflect on the Hijrah of the Prophet SAW, his sacrifices, teachings and his love for us, his ummah. We intend for a better year ahead, more closeness to Allah SWT, tawakkul, and to be in gatherings of dhikr and knowledge. We intend to spend more time with the Quran, work on purifying our hearts and guarding our tongues. We intend to be kinder to our parents, show kindness to our neighbours and be around good suhba. We intend to do more ibadah and spend in charity, keeping the ummah in our night prayers. What other intentions have you made for the year ahead?

New module, new diseases to understand.

Please note previous modules are not a prerequisite to attend this module. Recordings of previous modules will also be accessible.

This module explores a number of destructive spiritual ailments that impede the servant’s journey to Allah. Students will examine the nature, causes, signs, consequences, and remedies of covetousness, extended hope, foreboding and pessimistic fears, negative assumptions, vanity and self-admiration. fraud and deception, and anger, drawing upon the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the commentaries of the classical scholars. Students will learn how these diseases arise within the heart, how they undermine spiritual growth, and how they may be treated.

Following the traditional method of line-by-line explanation from Imam Mawlud’s Matharat al-Qulub, we will explore the roots, signs, and spiritual consequences of these diseases and, most importantly, their Prophetic remedies.
