The Commercial X-Large Award has been awarded to Stowe Australia at the 2026 NECA NSW Awards for the Sydney Fish Market.

Stowe Australia undertook the design and construct of the electrical and communications systems at the New Sydney Fish Market. Stowe delivered a fully integrated IT network, unifying building systems into a seamless platform, supported by advanced security, communications and smart technologies. The striking wave-shaped roof is brought to life through advanced DMX lighting, creating a dynamic digital canvas.

Fredon has taken out the Commercial Large Award at the 2026 NECA NSW Awards for the 580 George Street Electrical Infrastructure Project.

Fredon was faced with delivering a major infrastructure upgrade while keeping a bustling 36-floor tower, housing offices, retailers and a food court, fully operational. The entire main electrical distribution system was upgraded, along with the refurbishment of load shedding and generator fuel systems. New metering and sub-metering systems, and a remotely monitored energy management system, add to the modernisation of the site.

The Commercial Medium Award has been awarded to Raston Group at the 2026 NECA NSW Awards for the RNA Research and Pilot Manufacturing Facility.

This highly specialised project involved the design, management and delivery of a complex laboratory and research facility, including a negative pressure PC2 lab, for the production of RNA-based products. Raston Group’s scope also included the installation of a new substation and generator, UPS, solar, security interlock system and a custom-built main switchboard with integrated metering.

Raston Group has taken out the Commercial Small Award at the 2026 NECA NSW Awards for the Midtown Macquarie Park Public School project.

The new high-rise Midtown Public School will accommodate 750 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Raston Group was engaged for the design and construct of the complete electrical and building services package. The scope included a new main switchboard, feature architectural lighting, advanced lighting control systems, general power distribution, communications infrastructure, CCTV and integrated security systems.

The Commercial X-Small Award has been awarded to M.A.C Electrical Services & Installations at the 2026 NECA NSW Awards for the World Class End of Life Program.
M.A.C Electrical Services & Installations was engaged to deliver the complete electrical and extra-low voltage services package within a functioning hospital, including design coordination, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical, dry fire, security, nurse call and MATV systems across three patient rooms, a family lounge and courtyard. The project ensured full compliance while minimising disruption to ongoing hospital operations.

The Industrial X-Large Award has been awarded to RSGx at the 2026 NECA NSW Awards for the S.S.T.O.M. Line Wide Tunnel - M&E First Fix project.

RSGx was responsible for the design and installation of the cable and pipework containment system across 22 kilometres of Parklife Metro tunnels, installing more than 230,000 brackets and 130,000 metres of cable ladder. Eight specially designed custom scaffold platforms mounted to 8-tonne trucks, with crews of up to eight per vehicle deployed simultaneously across two 10-hour shifts, delivered a remarkable installation rate.

Congratulations to AVE Technologies for taking out the Industrial Large Award at the 2026 NECA NSW Awards for the AVE x MCi Carbon project.

AVE Technologies was the principal electrical and communications contractor for all electrical, extra-low voltage, process control and communications infrastructure for the MCi Carbon 'Myrtle' Demonstration Plant. AVE Technologies also contributed at the design stage for this first-of-its-kind facility, which aims to capture carbon emissions from industry and convert them into reusable materials for the construction industry.

Thorntek Electrical has just won the 2026 NECA NSW Award for Lighting Design & Installation for the Australian National Maritime Museum.

Working in a live, public museum, Thorntek Electrical delivered the external lighting design and installation for the Australian National Maritime Museum at Darling Harbour. The scope included the boardwalk and external lighting around the museum, new light poles, floodlights, wall lights, boardwalk fittings, specialised lighting for the museum sign and a DALI control system integrated into the museum's existing C-Bus.

GSTEC have just taken out the Sustainable Energy Award at the 2026 NECA NSW Awards for the InterContinental Hotel Sydney BMS & EMS Upgrade.

GSTEC completed a full Building Management and Control System replacement at the InterContinental Hotel Sydney, upgrading more than 600 control points across 33 levels while the hotel remained fully operational. The new platform integrates HVAC, energy metering, lighting, guest room controls and cloud-based analytics into a single unified system, resulting in annual electricity usage falling by 5% and gas consumption dropping by 14%.

Built to stringent Passive House standards, this new home in Jindabyne saw Porter’s Power & Electrical Solutions implement a highly proactive and collaborative management approach to ensure all electrical services, including future provisions, were installed prior to sealing the airtight building envelope.
