NECA Training Queensland, supported by Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ), will be providing CSQ-subsidised ACMA Open Registration + Structured Cabling courses for industry members in the greater Brisbane region.

Earlier this week, in celebration of National Careers Week 2026, NECA ACT teamed up with Master Builders ACT (MBA) and the Master Plumbers Association (MPA) to inspire secondary school students to explore rewarding careers in the trades.

The 'Build Your Future' event took place at MBA's headquarters and attracted over 150 students from 6 different ACT high schools.

NECA would like to extend its gratitude to MBA for hosting this event and to MPA for teaming up to help inspire the next generation of tradespeople in the ACT.

Today, we remember the Australian Defence Force Personnel who have served for our country.

Of these brave Australians, a core group were electricians, forming a strong bond between our trade and the safety and security of our country.

Today, on the anniversary of those soldiers landing in Türkiye, let us remember those who have served in Australia's armed forces, those who continue to serve, and those who have lost their lives.

NECA ACT, Master Builders ACT, and Master Plumbers ACT have come together in alliance to urge ACT and federal leaders to celebrate and prioritise the development of the next generation of tradies ahead of National Apprenticeship Week, starting Monday next week.

While acknowledging existing efforts, the groups say there is always room for improvements, including the 'destigmatisation' of trade-based careers.

"Ensuring the ongoing attraction of taking up a trades-apprenticeship is critical," NECA Training and Apprenticeships Regional Manager Michelle Ellis said.
