🐴💚 RDA HORSES ARE SAFE! 💚🐴

After yesterday’s rain and hail storm, we’re relieved to report that all our RDA horses are safe and well! ❤️

Thankfully, we’ve only had a couple of branches come down in our area, which is a huge relief compared to the damage across the rest of Blatherskite Park.

A big thank you to everyone who has been checking in and thinking of our horses and team. We’re feeling very grateful that our four-legged friends have come through the storm safely. 🐎🌧️

🐴 A Special Visit to RDA Alice Springs!🐴

On Sunday, we had the pleasure of welcoming His Honour the Honourable David Connolly, The Administrator of the Northern Territory, and Ms Sue Brosnan OLY to RDA Alice Springs.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share the important work we do and showcase the difference our horses, dedicated staff and volunteers make in the lives of our participants.

We sincerely thank His Honour and Ms Brosnan for taking the time to visit and for their interest in our organisation and the wider Alice Springs community.

A great example of community support making a real difference 💙🐴

We were excited to see RDA Alice Springs featured in this week’s , sharing the story of our new horse scales and the difference they are already making to our program.

The scales were purchased thanks to a generous gift through the Give2Give program, run by the Mparntwe Alice Springs Community Foundation.

Having the ability to accurately weigh our horses means we can better match riders with suitable horses and, importantly, provide opportunities for some participants who may previously have been unable to ride.

And yes — our big boy Fergus certainly helped demonstrate why having accurate scales is so valuable! 😄

We have absolutely loved having the students from Acacia Hill School out at RDA each week.

Seeing their confidence grow, the connections they build with our horses, and those big smiles makes it all worthwhile.

Thank you Acacia Hill School for sharing these beautiful photos and for continuing to be part of our RDA Alice Springs community. We’re already looking forward to welcoming the next group! ❤️

💙 A huge thank you to Robyn Lambley MLA for generously donating the proceeds from the her Alice Springs Show Stall Raffle to RDA Alice Springs!

Robyn has been a long-time supporter and Patron of our Centre, and we are incredibly grateful for her ongoing generosity and commitment to helping us continue the work we do for our riders and participants.

Congratulations also to the lucky winner of the raffle! 🎉

Our Show Raffles were won by Bernard and Taria. All money raised went to Alice Springs Riding for the Disabled - of which I am their very proud Patron. 💜

🐴 What happens when the RDA Alice Springs Committee swaps the boardroom for the saddle? A whole lot of laughs! 😄

This weekend our committee members took part in a special “Committee Lesson”, giving us the chance to experience exactly what our riders enjoy every week. Under the guidance of our amazing coaches and dedicated volunteers, we learned new skills, challenged ourselves, and shared plenty of laughs along the way.

One thing that makes our committee so special is that we all come from different backgrounds. Some of us are horse people, some of us aren’t. Some have experience with disabilities, while others don’t. But we all share one common goal – supporting and growing RDA Alice Springs so we can continue making a difference in our community.

A huge thank you to our incredible coaches, volunteers, and four-legged teachers for such a memorable experience. We had an absolute blast! 💙🐎
