Impact100 South Australia

Impact100 South Australia An initiative in SA asking 100+ local people to give a tax deductible donation of $1,000 that will enable giving of at least one high impact grant.

Impact100 is a volunteer led organisation that was established in South Australia in 2014 with the goal of getting together at least 100 people who would each give a tax deductible donation of $1,000. In this way, Impact100 is able to fund an annual grant of $100,000, which is then given to a local charity to help them make a difference in our community. Our donors all have the opportunity to

vote on the charity and project that they feel is most deserving. As a donor you will also know that your money will improve the quality of life of your fellow South Australians. The Impact100 initiative demonstrates the collective power of creating a giving circle, with the funds raised making a big ‘Impact’ on the successful charity whilst helping lift the profile of deserving but lesser known organisations that are serving our local community. The program also provides an opportunity for people to get involved in philanthropy and experience the joy of giving. Impact100 members help decide which organisation will receive a life-changing grant by voting on the final four applicants at an annual Grant Awards Night. Through interaction with non-profit leaders, Impact100 SA offers rare insight into the philanthropic community, which in turn encourages further engagement as donors, volunteers and mentors. All organisations who apply for the grant benefit by the raising of their profiles, learning more about grant application processes, and potentially attracting additional funding. In the eight years since we started, Impact100 SA has more than doubled our membership and has donated more than $1.56 million in transformative grants to community organisations and charities and is creating a stronger, kinder and more connected South Australia. 🎉 Meet our 2026 finalists! 🎉

The votes are in!

Our members came together for our annual Grant Shortlisting Event and had the very important – and very difficult – task of deciding which five organisations would progress to our 2026 Grant Awards Night.

We’re delighted to introduce our finalists:

💙 Backpacks 4 SA Kids INC.
🌾 Fat Farmers
💡 In 2 Life (Streetlight Community)
📦 The One Box
💜 Zahra Foundation Australia

A huge congratulations to all five! 👏

We’re looking forward to introducing you to each organisation and sharing more about the work they’re doing in our South Australian community over the coming weeks.

We’d also like to say a very big thank you to our members for taking part in the voting process, and to our volunteer Grants Committee for the extraordinary amount of work, care and due diligence that goes into getting us to this stage each year.

Now it’s on to Grant Awards Night on 28 October, when our finalists will pitch directly to our members before they vote to determine where this year’s grants will go.

It’s amazing what we can achieve when we give together 💙

🌱 Investing in strong organisations and lasting impact

Thanks to the generosity of the Day Family Foundation, past Impact100 SA grant recipients have access to two fully funded places at the Leaders Institute of SA Governance Masterclass on 3 September.

Valued at $1,380, the opportunity enables a CEO or senior executive and Board Chair to attend together, building stronger governance, leadership and strategic capacity.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Day Family Foundation for investing in the long-term strength of South Australia’s for-purpose sector. Strong organisations create stronger communities. 💙

🎉 A major milestone for Young Impact!

We're proud to share that since Young Impact launched in 2021, our young philanthropists have raised an incredible $103,155.87 and supported 15 South Australian charities.

What started as an initiative to inspire school-aged children to embrace collective giving has grown into something truly special. Every fundraiser and every vote has helped support grassroots South Australian charities while nurturing the next generation of community builders.

To every young person, family, school and volunteer who has been part of the journey... THANK YOU. This milestone belongs to all of you.

Here's to the next $100,000 and many more lives changed through the power of collective giving.

🔦 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT 🔦

Welcome to Impact100 SA, Emma Robinson.

Emma told us she has admired the collective impact of Impact100 SA for several years. Like many people, she assumed membership was by invitation only. Once she discovered that Impact100 SA isn't limited to just 100 people—but is open to anyone who shares a passion for creating positive change—she knew it was time to get involved.

"I'm excited to be part of a group of South Australians who are making a tangible difference through collective giving and look forward to contributing to the important work of Impact100 SA."

We're delighted to welcome Emma to our growing community of generous members who are helping create lasting change across South Australia.

💙 Emma's story is also a great reminder that Impact100 SA is open to everyone who wants to make a meaningful impact. If you've ever wondered whether membership is for you, we'd love to hear from you.

And if you know someone who is passionate about supporting South Australian charities through the power of collective giving, please invite them to learn more about joining our giving circle.

Meet Grace, one of our Young Impact participants who has been busy collecting bottles and cans for recycling to raise funds for Young Impact.

Not only that, she has also arranged for collection bins to be placed at her school so that fellow students, families and staff can contribute and support this fantastic fundraising effort.

Every bottle and can collected helps make a difference. The funds raised will be pooled with donations from all Young Impact participants, and everyone will have the opportunity to vote on how the money is distributed at our Grants Day on Sunday 30 August at St Andrew’s School.

100% of all funds raised will go to HAS Foundation, Meals on Wheels and The Forktree Foundation.

Well done to Grace and all our Young Impact participants for their initiative, leadership and commitment to helping others. Together, Young Impact participants are learning the power of collective giving and creating real impact in our community.

💙 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT 💙

We’re so pleased to welcome Ben Potter to the Impact100 SA community.

After 20 years in Melbourne, Ben, his wife Nisi and their four-year-old son Jack recently made the move back home to South Australia, now splitting their time between Adelaide and beautiful McLaren Vale.

An Investment Advisor and Partner with LGT Wealth Management, Ben joined Impact100 SA with a deeply personal understanding of why giving matters.

“Our twins, Jack and Oscar, were born prematurely at 24 weeks. Sadly, Oscar passed away at two weeks of age and Jack spent the first six months of his life in the NICU. That experience made us acutely aware of the importance of giving, particularly to causes that support children’s charities.”

“We are proud to be part of Impact100 SA, being a volunteer-run organisation where everyone involved donates their time, expertise and passion.”

Stories like these remind us why collective giving matters so much. Together, we can help create meaningful change for South Australian families and communities. ✨

SA Giving Week was a beautiful reminder that generosity comes in so many forms and that people give in so many ways.

Some give their time by volunteering, supporting events, showing up and helping wherever needed, just like our Impact100 committee and all those who supported our Generous South Australians night on Thursday. Thanks to our member panellists Ana Koch, Lisa Tarca and Ben Potter.

Special thanks to Carly Falconer giving her time to help on the night and to sort name tags.

Some give their talent by creating meaningful experiences, curating events, telling stories, and raising awareness for important causes like our Impact100 members and the SA Giving Week committee Kay Burton Sophie Doyle Kate Stock

Some give their treasure by funding big ideas, sponsoring initiatives, opening doors, offering venues, or providing practical support behind the scenes just like The Mill who provided a venue for our generous South Australian’s night and Tony and Marks who donated delicious grazing platters, and the generous family foundations, most of the Impact100 SA members who supported the week.

Some give their ties by connecting people, building communities, introducing ideas and opportunities that spark impact, just like Ana Koch, Jackie Newton, Amy Bredon and Nikki Hamdorf.

And some give their testimony, proudly lending their voice, reputation, and advocacy to causes they believe in, like our Impact100 SA ambassadors Kevin Scarce AC, Carolyn Hewson AO, Raymond Spencer AM, Jane Doyle OAM and Geoff Day OAM.

SA Giving Week celebrated all of them including the volunteers, the organisers, the donors, the connectors, and the cheerleaders.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this week such a powerful celebration of generosity in all its forms.

SA Giving Week is underway, a time to celebrate and encourage all the ways that South Australians give - be it their time, their talent, treasure, ties, testimony and trust!

Our Young Impact giving circle volunteers need little encouragement and give in all these ways - just like Livy and friends at their recent sausage sizzle fundraiser at Mitre 10 at Malvern.

Our other Young Impact participants are also busy raising funds by collecting cans, baking brownies, selling eraseable pens, and hosting a film afternoon among many other activities.

Excitingly, funds raised are being matched again this year by the very generous Lang Family Foundation. To date, Young Impact has raised over $103, 155.87 for 15 charities in five years. Pretty amazing, hey?

Each year, funds are pooled and then after voting, are distributed among three grassroots organisations.

Young Impact is grateful also for the support of the Rali Foundation, St Andrew’s School (venue) , PPI Apparel (hats) and Yochi (ice cream vouchers for participants) and all our many supporters.
