Music’s future is stronger when young voices are part of the story.

Carclew is proud to have contributed to the youth conversations informing A Sound Future 2026–2028, the Music Development Office’s new strategy supporting artists, audiences and music businesses across South Australia.

Backed by more than $1.5 million in additional investment through the first delivery plan of A Place to Create, the strategy includes new opportunities for young people, professional development pathways, updated funding programs, support for live music venues and festivals, and stronger connections with international music networks.

We’re pleased to see young people reflected so strongly in its direction and welcome the State Government’s commitment to creating stronger pathways for young South Australian musicians.

Are you ready for the final Holiday Bands for 2026!! 🎸

This Spring, Holiday Bands returns for teens 13-17 from September 28 till October 1st. The program where participants form a Band on Monday and play a gig on Thursday. 🎹

Young musical talent from Holiday Bands programs at Carclew, NSS, Base 10 and City of Charles Sturt Council will come together from across the state for an epic gig at The Gov on October 1! 👨‍🎤🧑‍🎤👩‍🎤

🖤❤️💛 This week, we had the privilege of welcoming nearly 100 First Nations students from 12 schools to Carclew for the Thriving People Festival.

Thriving People is a collaborative initiative between Carclew and Catholic Education South Australia for First Nations students. Across two days, students took part in cultural learning, creative experiences and opportunities for community connection, led by First Nations professional artists and facilitators. 🎨💫

Throughout Carclew house 🏰 students got creative through jewellery making, street art, music and GIF-making workshops, delivered by emerging and established First Nations artists.

At the heart of the festival is creating a space where every student feels special, included and connected, while experiencing culture and creativity together.
