Carclew nourishes the artistic and cultural lives of South Australian children and young people aged 26 and under through workshops, events, arts projects, funding programs, and skill development. 🎨 Bring creativity into your classroom.

Carclew’s Creative Learning programs connect South Australian schools with professional artists, giving students opportunities to explore ideas, experiment with creative processes and make work of their own.

From sustained creative partnerships to one-day workshops and masterclasses, programs are shaped around professional artistic practice and the needs of each school community.

EOIs are now open for Term 4 2026 and Terms 1-4 2027.

Schools interested in participating are encouraged to register their interest by the end of Week 2, Term 4.

Whether you’re coming along to an exhibition or event, taking part in a program, or spending some time in our grounds, there are plenty of ways to experience Carclew.

🌿 Explore our grounds - our outdoor spaces remain open for everyone to enjoy.

🎨 Visit an exhibition or event - Carclew house opens throughout the year for exhibitions, events, programs and creative experiences.

🎸 WHAT A NIGHT! 🎶

History was made last Thursday as young musicians from five Holiday Bands programs across four different venues took to the stage at The Gov in a showcase of Adelaide's next generation of musical talent! 🎸

The stage lit up as new bands performed in front of nearly 600 audience members for one electric night! 🎤⚡

A huge congratulations to all the young musicians who took to the stage, and thank you to the families, friends and supporters who packed out The Gov and cheered them on. ❤️🎶⁠

🌸 Monday 5 October ➡️ Nature Hammer Printing⁠
Hammer spring flower petals and leaves onto fabric to create your own naturally dyed picture.⁠
⁠
🧶 Tuesday 6 October ➡️ Paper Weaving⁠
Design a masterpiece on a paper loom, exploring colour, different weaving styles and collage techniques.⁠
⁠
🎨 Wednesday 7 October ➡️ Mural Workshop ⁠
Work together to explore large-scale painting and create a collaborative mural on cardboard.⁠
⁠
🌼 Thursday 8 October ➡️ 100 Flowers Project⁠
Make a colourful flower from recycled and repurposed plastics to contribute to the 100 Flowers Project.⁠

Families can also join us for Relaxed Hour (10am–11am)—a quieter, sensory-friendly environment designed for neurodivergent children and children with sensory access needs.⁠

⚡19 bands | from five Holiday Bands programs | across four venues | one massive night of live music.

From first-time performers taking to the stage to emerging young musicians continuing to build their sound, it’s set to be an incredible celebration of creativity, confidence and young talent.

Recently, Carclew’s Artist Development Lead, Thomas Readett, had the pleasure of opening The In-Between exhibition at Gallery 1855. ⁠
⁠
A partnership between Carclew, Gallery 1855 and the City of Tea Tree Gully, the exhibition brought together young artists from five local secondary schools to explore what it means to exist in-between - cultures, generations and places.

Thomas worked with participating schools and young artists throughout the project, including work selection and curation, culminating in an impressive collection of work that made selecting a winner no easy task!

A huge congratulations to young artists at the following schools, whose work is a testament to their strong skill and creativity and the support of their teachers!⁠

🎭 Got an idea for Adelaide Fringe 2027? Now’s the time to share it.

We’re looking for creative ideas to bring Carclew to life during Adelaide Fringe 2027.

Whether it’s performance, live music, exhibitions, installations, participatory experiences - or something we haven’t thought of yet - we want to hear from producers, collectives, arts organisations and creative practitioners with ideas for our indoor and outdoor spaces.

We’re especially interested in proposals that bring together multiple artists, works or activities, with children and young people at the heart of the experience.
