• Semi-skilled migration & gap training initiative – a proposed initiative in partnership with the South Australian Skills Commission to support skilled workforce attraction and address industry skills gaps.

• Industry Accelerated Apprenticeship Program (IAAP) – an accelerated pathway, only available through CACL, which will fast-track civil construction qualifications from 36 to just 18 months.

🕐 10.30am-11.30am, Friday 9 October

These events are hiring without the guess work – employers meet motivated candidates in person, ask the questions that matter, and identify those who would be the right fit before progressing to a second interview or straight to an apprenticeship offer. CACL recently had the opportunity to welcome a group of our apprentices to the new site at Gepps Cross for its official launch.

It was a great chance to reconnect, hear about their progress, and see them proudly representing CACL alongside the Premier, the Minister for Education, Skills and Training, and the SA Skills Commissioner.

This photo captures Civil Train SA - RTO 45621 Director of Training, Zac Slade with Bonnie, who is currently hosted with BDT Construction SA.

Bonnie is thriving in her role and speaks highly of both the work she’s doing and the crew she’s part of, exactly what we aim to see for all of our apprentices.

Valuable to attend today’s CITB South Australia Mature Age & Female Apprentice Research Forum, sharing insights from research delivered in collaboration with The University of Adelaide and exploring what it means for South Australia’s building and construction workforce.

Hearing from Holly Willcox and Professor Nancy Arthur reinforced both the opportunity and the urgency to better attract and support mature-age and female apprentices across our industry.

Looking forward to the continued conversation between industry, government and training providers as this work progresses.
