There are no shortage of hazards in a USAR environment. Due to this, our handlers ensure they wear appropriate PPE.

Similarly, our canines must be accustomed to wearing PPE during their searches to remain safe 🤩.

Team Riot has successfully graduated from runaways to pop-outs 🤩!

During a pop-out, the canine does not see the victim run away from them. Instead, the victim pops out of the hiding spot briefly and the canine then has to work out where the victim is and provide an alert. Well done team Riot 👏 👏.

This weekend our advanced teams worked on searches that involved overlapping scent from multiple victims.

This type of search contains more complexity for the canine as they have to determine what scent to pursue first even though they may have detected more than one victim. This type of scenario emulates what is often experienced on deployment. Well done Team Togo and Team Finn 🤩

Today’s training session was all about environmental exposure for the green dogs and complex search work for the more senior teams!

Brilliant work teams 🤩

Team Togo demonstrating a beautiful alert after locating two inaccessible missing persons in the rubble pile 😍!

04/10/2025

Team Togo and Team Finn had a blast today 💥!

Both teams conducted a series of searches where the victim was inaccessible. Without being able to get close to the victim, the canines had to settle on the spot with the highest concentration of human scent.
