🏆 ROUND 5 AT MERCEDES COLLEGE 🎤

The final preliminary round of the 2026 Debating SA Schools Competition arrived at Mercedes College recently.

Round 5 gave students one final opportunity in the preliminary season to test their arguments, challenge the opposition through rebuttal and persuade their adjudicator.

Thank you to Mercedes College for welcoming our teams throughout the season, and to the teachers, coordinators, adjudicators, families and supporters whose contribution makes the competition possible.

🏆 ROUND 5 AT GLEESON COLLEGE 🎤

Our fifth and final preliminary round brought another fantastic evening of debating to Gleeson College!

Across five rounds, students have researched challenging topics, built arguments, responded with rebuttal and developed the confidence to put their ideas to the test. Round 5 was another opportunity to show just how much those skills have developed across the season.

A huge thank you to Gleeson College for hosting Debating SA throughout the 2026 competition, and to all the teachers, coordinators, adjudicators, families and supporters who have helped make these evenings possible.

With the preliminary rounds now complete, attention turns to the finals! 🏆

As we prepare to begin Round 5, we’re taking a moment to look back on another fantastic round of debates! 🎤👏

During Round 4, our Senior teams contested the final Preliminary round, taking on the added challenge of a Short Preparation debate. It was impressive to see students think on their feet, adapt quickly and deliver strong, well-reasoned arguments under time pressure.

Across all divisions, students continued to strengthen their arguments, sharpen their rebuttal and grow in confidence. It was wonderful to see so many thoughtful debates, strong performances and supportive teams across our venues.

Thank you to our students, coaches, teachers, adjudicators and host schools for making Round 4 such a success.

Round 3 at St Dominic's Priory College 🎤✨

Students from across Adelaide came together at St Dominic's Priory College for another fantastic evening of debating in Round 3 of the Debating SA Schools’ Competition.

Throughout the night, students demonstrated thoughtful arguments, strategic rebuttal, confident speaking, and outstanding teamwork as they tackled challenging topics and represented their schools with pride.

As the season progresses, it has been wonderful to see debaters continuing to build their skills, grow in confidence, and embrace the challenge of competitive debating.

Another fantastic evening of debating as students gathered at Immanuel College for Round 3 of the Debating SA Competition.

Across a wide range of topics, teams demonstrated thoughtful analysis, confident delivery and strong teamwork. It was wonderful to see debaters challenging ideas, responding effectively in rebuttal and continuing to develop their public speaking skills.
