All members are to strictly adhere to the AAFC Social Media Policy. In line with the AAFC Behaviour Policy & Code of Conduct, as well as directions from OC 6WG, the Commanding Offic
er of 604 SQN advises that:
- Members are reminded that the Social Media Policy not only covers Facebook, but other Social Networking Sites (SNS) such sites as Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, MySpace, Hi5, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo, Pinterest, Flickr, Whirlpool & GeekZone.
- Inappropriate comments, pictures, swearing or abuse is neither allowed nor tolerated and is a breach of the Behaviour Policy, Code of Conduct and the law.
- Inappropriate & disrespectful discussions of other cadets, staff or members of the public is strictly forbidden.
- Discussing or releasing restricted, confidential, sensitive, official or personal information is a breach of the Privacy Policy & Privacy Act.
- Photographs are not to be uploaded until consent has been gained, either from all members in the photo or from the Commanding Officer.
- Controversial topics related or unrelated to the AAFC, ADFC or the ADF are to be avoided. This includes personal opinions on religion, politics, current world news etc.
- Staff are not permitted to have or establish one-to-one relationships with any currently enrolled ADF Cadet through SNS; such communication will be through approved AAFC group sites or forums only and "private messaging" services within SNS breaches AAFC Policy.
- If you witness a suspected breach of the Social Media Policy, or believe that negative, disparaging or inaccurate content about an AAFC member, the AAFC or the ADF has occurred, please notify the Commanding Officer immediately. All members are reminded that the AAFC & the ADF routinely audits and reviews social media websites to ensure compliance with the Social Media Policy. Refer any questions to
