Our last patient for the day was Bella ❤️🐾

She was safely returned to her owner around 17h30.

Between the first dog being tagged at 05h30 and the last dog leaving at 17h30, so many lives changed for the better today.

And tomorrow we do it all over again ❤️🐾

We have three vehicles constantly on the road as we Sterilise 200 animals over a three day period.

The amount of driving between our base in Vredendal to Lutzville and surrounding areas is eating into to our fuel budget big time.

Pinky was the first dog collected this morning from Ebenhaeser ❤️🐾 to be Sterilised at the Mass Sterilisation in Lutzville

Today's volunteers and vet team were just incredible. A very long day. Many of us started at 5am and we have just got home.

We have so many incredible moments to share with you all and will share lots over the next couple of days.

We have spent the day in Lutzville setting up the hall for the mass Sterilisation starting tomorrow.

What an incredible team of people. Outside all the dog and cat carriers washed, sanitised and lined...
all ready to collect 200 animals over the next 3 days.

It has taken a lot of planning and organisation to pull off our third mass Sterilisation in 11 months.

We have a mountain of people to thank, we will do a special post at the end of the mass Sterilisation.

We are ready to change the lives of 200 animals ❤️🐾

Chloe, from Ebenhaeser and her puppies were admitted to the Vredendal Dierehospitaal / Animal Hospital this morning.

It was a mad scramble to find someone to take this little family to our vet, as the vet closed at 12 and the Angel Project was in transit with full bakkie and trailer to Lutzville. We are busy setting up for our mass Sterilisation project.

We are so thankful to Mell in Ebenhaeser that located a willing driver, we paid for the fuel and Mell, driver, Chloe and pups set off to the vet.

Chloe was hit by a car. Dr Chris has done x-rays she has bilateral pelvis fractures. For now cage rest, nursing and TLC.

Chloe and pups are safe and sound in the hands of Dr Chris.

We are such a small group of volunteers, we often find it so challenging when we are busy with one project or are in a town miles away and we get called for emergencies. We are always juggling to get to everyone.

Update: We found someone In Ebenhaeser, paid the fuel costs and the mamma dog and all her pups are safely at the vet.

🛑 EMERGENCY 🛑

IS THERE ANYONE IN EBENHAESER THAT CAN BRING A DOG THAT HAS JUST BEEN RUN OVER TO THE VET IN VREDENDAL?

The dog has puppies and is just laying there injured.

We have just left Vredendal with a heavily laden bakkie and trailer heading towards Lutzville to unload everything we need for the mass Sterilation.

We cannot reach the dog right now and our vet closes at 12 on a Saturday.

This is an emergency and we are reaching out for help please. We are willing to cover the cost of the fuel.

Happy Birthday Sally 🎉

When the fosters throw a whole birthday 🥳 party for their special foster, it does not get much better than this. Balloons, banners and new toys.

Sally and Spike were returned by their previous owners. I think you all remember the mad dash to raise funds to get them back from Mosselbay.

Sally and Spike remain in foster care with the most incredible couple. They have fundraised themselves for all of Spike and Sally's requirements. Nothing has been left to chance, they have seen an animal behaviourist to help them over their trauma of losing their previous family and they attend puppy classes. Spike and Sally are living their best lives because of this foster family that stepped forward without a moment's hesitation.
Thank you foster family ❤️🐾

Today they celebrated Sally's first birthday in true style.

Today we had to say a sad goodbye to Jack and Mia 🐾🌈💔

We were contacted yesterday by a concerned family member, their elderly aunt and uncle needed assistance with the dogs.

Mia was 11 years old, and Jack 10. Mia was riddled with cancer and Jack was just too far gone. Two dogs that had lived together for so many years, gained their wings today.

Condolences to their family that loved them very much.

One of the hardest things in rescue is to arrive at the vet with animals, and have to walk out without them 💔

We however know, that the right decision was made.

Jack and Mia, run free tonight, pain free 💫
