A huge shout out to In Paradise@ for giving our boys the chance to come down and do pony rides this morning. The ponies are also so happy to be lawn mowers for the morning 🤣
A massive thank you to everyone who came down to support - so lovely to meet new faces 🫶🏻

An extra shout out to Rae Human and Peaches who somehow always manage to co-ordinate their outfits with the ponies. We don’t arrange this beforehand, we promise. It must be telepathy 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣😉

October photo dump alert!!
We’ve been a bit quiet on Facebook lately, but plenty has been happening behind the scenes.

Lots of time in the saddle, some familiar faces, plenty of new visitors and a few little cowboys in the making.

A photo dump of what’s made our month.

A few photos from our October Perdedag!

Hooves trimmed, Dectomax injections done and horses sprayed for ticks!

The boys were the driving force behind the day, taking charge of everything from the organising, handling horses, taking weights and measurements and making sure everything ran smoothly. They pretty much ran the whole show! 💪🐴

Thanks to everyone who came along and supported the day, and thank you to our sponsors:

Happy Friday 💙🎈
Models: Maurees Wessels & Vlam

Thanks for sharing Mandy Milne, Suurbraak.co.za

Friday feel-good 🐴

We wanted to end the week with a sweet picture of a young rider, a good horse, and beautiful Xairu in the background.

Maurees and Vlam are a lovely reminder of the special connection our local youngsters have with their horses.

The Xairu Equine Project plays an important role in supporting and guiding local young riders, helping them learn about horses, responsibility and the care that comes with being around these beautiful animals.

A little bit of village life, a good horse and a beautiful Friday afternoon. ❤️

Have a lovely weekend, Suurbraak.

A huge thank you to Liezl Liebenberg for working with two of our boys, teaching them the basics of flatwork, schooling and how to ride more effectively. 🐴

These are such valuable skills for our young riders, and we’re incredibly grateful for the time and knowledge she’s shared with them.

Twilight arrived with a deep and very infected wound on his neck. Twilight is a stallion, and unfortunately at this time of the year we start to see a lot of these kinds of injuries on stallions.

He’s been put on a course of antibiotics, had a tetanus shot and is receiving pain management.
Bandaging the neck has been a learning curve, and we’ve tried all sorts of things including pantyhose and tank tops, none of which have been very successful.

For now we are keeping his wound clean and free of flies, and we seem to be winning the fight 🤞🏻💙

A massive thank you to Swellendam Dierehospitaal who sponsor tetanus shots for all of our horses, and sponsored bandage for Twilight.
