๐ŸŽ‰ Leadership in Action! ๐ŸŽ‰

Our High School Leadership learners kicked off the new term by facilitating fun and engaging games for our Primary School learners!

Beyond the fun, this initiative provided our high school learners with valuable hands-on experience in facilitating group activities, developing leadership skills, working as a team, and learning the importance of serving others.

Yesterday, the ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฐ๐—ต ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† Community Development Department hosted a Sisterhood Conversations session aimed at empowering our young girls on mental health and encouraging them to speak out and seek help when needed.

Organized by Sis Funeka-Lithemba and facilitated by Sis ๐—ง๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜„๐—ฎ, a social worker and facilitator from the ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฝ ๐—ฎ ๐—š๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—น ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ป, the session created a safe space for sharing experiences and reminding the girls that it is okay to ask for counselling or simply seek a shoulder to lean on.

As a gesture of encouragement, the Department gifted each of the 35 girls an exam gift box containing snacks, a journal and a mug, wishing them well in their upcoming examinations. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ“š

What an amazing week at our Isakhono Holiday Program!

Our learners have completed their designs, and we are so proud of the creativity, focus and effort they have shown throughout the 3 days. A big thank you to our learners, facilitators, Thembelani and Lenie, and our High School Manager, Zet, for making this holiday program a success.

But the journey doesnโ€™t end here! ๐Ÿ™Œ Our learners will have the opportunity to present their designs and deliver a business pitch in front of a panel of judges. We are excited to see them put their creativity, skills and entrepreneurial thinking into action. ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ‘

Day 2 of our Isakhono Holiday Program focused on design and silkscreen printing.
It may look simple, but our learners are discovering that there is a lot of skill, patience and attention to detail behind creating a good print.

The learners remained focused, engaged and willing to learn. Itโ€™s not always easy, but they are pulling through, learning by doing and developing new practical skills along the way.

Today was about celebrating the father figures, mentors, uncles, grandfathers, coaches, older brothers and men who choose to invest in the lives of our young boys. ๐Ÿ’™

Through soccer, food, conversation and simply spending time together, we are reminded that relationships matter, presence matters and the example we set matters.

We know that it isnโ€™t always easy to hold on to hope when the environment around us can feel clouded by growing levels of crime, challenges and uncertainty. Yet, even in the midst of difficult circumstances, there are still stories of growth, courage, kindness and transformation.

Our Celebration of Hope is an opportunity to shine a light on those stories, the moments that reminded us that good things are still happening, that people are still making a difference, and that there is still so much to be hopeful for. โœจ

๐ŸŽจ Siseko Friday | Arts & Craft Club

This Friday, our Arts & Craft Club got hands-on with a fun and creative clay session with kids! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝโœจ

Using nothing but their hands and their imagination, the children explored clay and created something of their own. Activities like these encourage creative thinking, imagination, problem-solving and self-expression, while giving children the freedom to explore, experiment and learn through doing.

Sometimes, all a child needs is a piece of clay, a little space and the freedom to create. ๐ŸŒฑ
