CHILD PROTECTION

Over the past two weeks, our KDP After-School Program has been focusing on Child Protection Month through meaningful teachings, discussions, and activities with our children.

Today, we want to remind every parent, teacher, coach, community leader, and every adult connected to a child:

Children are always watching, listening, and searching for someone who makes them feel safe, protected, valued, and heard. Be that safe person.

Sometimes, without even knowing it, you become the HERO a child needs most. Your kindness, guidance, support and protection can leave a lifelong impact.

Together, let us continue building safe spaces where children can grow, dream, learn, and thrive freely.

Never stop learning, because growth creates greater impact.

This past weekend, while the GBV Netball Tournament was taking place at the Cape Winelands Netball Courts, KDP founder Leticia Pietersen had the privilege of attending the Women in Business Course hosted by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) Cape Winelands.

The course provided valuable insight into leadership, business development, sustainability, and personal growth. As an organisation committed to empowering children and youth through education and sport, opportunities like these help us grow stronger so that we can serve our community with greater purpose and impact.

We are especially grateful to Cape Winelands Netball Federation for this amazing opportunity and for continuously creating platforms that empower women and community leaders to grow.

Thank you to DCAS Cape Winelands for investing in women leaders and encouraging continuous learning and development.

At KDP, we believe that when leaders grow, communities grow.

🔥 INTRODUCING OUR U16 NETBALL CAPTAIN, AVA BOESAK!!!!

We are incredibly proud to introduce our U16 Netball Captain, Ava Boesak! 🏐👑

The biggest surprise? Ava is only 12 years old! But don’t ever let her age fool you. The moment she steps onto the court, she becomes a force to be reckoned with.

Dominating from Centre, Wing Attack, and one of her strongest positions, Goal Attack, Ava brings fire, control, and leadership every single game. She has the ability to ignite the court with her speed and intensity, while still remaining calm, focused, and in complete control of the game.

A true young leader with determination, confidence, and passion beyond her years. The future is bright, and we cannot wait to watch her continue to grow and inspire.

Congratulations, Ava Boesak! Your KDP family is proud of you! ❤️

🌟 Today, We Celebrate the Meaning of Brave
Sinazo Magxwalisa, proud Umpire of KDP, is proof that courage has no age and no limits. When the call came in 2025 asking who would be interested in becoming a Netball Umpire, she stepped forward without fear.

She may be small in size, but we don’t call her “Shotgun” for nothing! 🔥 At only 16 years old, Sinazo stands firm and strong next to the court, showing confidence, leadership, and passion every single game.

Being brave is not about being the loudest person in the room. It’s about showing up, taking responsibility, believing in yourself, and standing tall even when the challenge seems bigger than you. And that is exactly who Sinazo is.

Today, we celebrate her courage, dedication, and willingness to grow. She is inspiring other young girls to believe that they too can lead, learn, and make a difference in sport and in life.

Thanks to Roseline Wolmarans Daniels for creating opportunities that allows our youth.

Congratulations to our girls, Yournick and Success, who represented Cape Winelands Netball in the Under 19 team at the Western Cape Netball Tournament held this past weekend in Mossel Bay.
They brought home GOLD in their category! 🥇🏆
A special congratulations as well to Leticia Pietersen for serving as one of the Technical Officials at the tournament. Your leadership, commitment, and contribution to the sport are truly inspiring. 👏🏽
