"Today we aren't marching for hunger, we are marching for dignity."

Thank you to everyone who joined EcoMaties in Cape Town as we marched to Parliament to demand system change, food sovereignty, and climate resilience. Swipe through to see the energy on the ground and a snippet from our vice-chairperson, Lino, delivering this exact message on the platform.

The fight for a sustainable and just food system doesn't stop here. 🌱

EcoMaties officially endorses the Climate Justice Charter Movement (CJCM) and the South African Food Sovereignty Campaign (SAFSC).

With the reality of El Niño, a looming 1.5°C overshoot, and the Sixth Mass Extinction, incremental policy changes are no longer sufficient. We are calling for a deep, just transition focused on Food Sovereignty.
Swipe to read our full official statement.
