*Serving God in others 14*
And the King will answer them, Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
(Matt 25:40)
As we conclude this series we want to encourage you to see your opportunity to serve as God's grace for your blessings. Jesus openly demonstrated that if we serve others in their various circumstances of need, we serve him and we shall be rewarded. Failure to seize opportunities to serve will be punished. May God help us to seize every opportunity of service so that we can serve God through others and receive temporal and eternal blessings.
Paul also shows that we all have opportunities to serve all people and especially our sisters and brothers in faith (Gal 6:9-10). How much do we see these opportunities in the church. Our fellow members are meant to be served. What about the poor and the elderly? What about the forgotten lot of retired servants of God and their widows. They worked tirelessly for us to be where we are as a church but we forget them. These are some of the members of the household of faith. We have the opportunity to serve as individuals and as congregations. If we don't serve as individuals or as a community, this is sin and it leads to our destruction. But if we grow in love and do not tire in doing good we will harvest. Our reward is waiting for those who tirelessly serve God through others. Christ declared that when you did it to the least of these brothers you did it to me!!! Amen. *Rev Dr RBB Hove*
