Treat Dad to a delicious country-style lunch on 20 & 21 June and celebrate Father’s Day with us!
Juicy Roast Chicken, honey glazed carrots, steamed green beans, baked potatoes and your choice of either rice or butternut mash.
Your meal includes a complimentary glass of wine, grape juice, coffee or tea.
All for R180 pp

Fact of the Day :
A donkey's mane is usually short, stiff, and stands straight up, which distinguishes it from a horse's long, flowing mane.
A donkey's coarse coat requires different grooming brushes and care compared to a horse.

Happy Friday from all of us at the Sanctuary!
As another week draws to a close, our donkeys are enjoying the winter sunshine, grazing peacefully and welcoming every visitor who stops by.
If you've had a busy week, why not treat yourself to a little time out this weekend? Take the scenic route, enjoy a cup of coffee, listen to the birds, and spend some time with our gentle donks.
Life feels a little slower and a little kinder here. ☺🫏

Fienie is a little concerned. Is it something she's done? Where is everybody?
So our bridge is broken… but we just happen to live in a stunning part of the Western Cape AND we have a Donkey Sanctuary right on our doorstep - it could be worse!
If you're from outside McGregor don't let the broken bridge put you off, take the scenic route and finish up at the Sanctuary for tasty refreshments at our Coffee Shop. At the time of writing, all roads are good for all types of vehicles - no 4 x 4 necessary 🚜
As for all you McGregor locals - you know where we are. Take a break from the village and pop down the road to say hi to the donks. It's been far too quiet for them lately and it will get you out of the house for a bit.
We are open to the public today - Thursday, right through to Sunday 10am - 4pm.
Come and enjoy this beautiful weather while you can.

Behind the scenes at the Sanctuary, our hardworking care staff are the heart of everything we do. They dedicate their days to ensuring the health, comfort, and welfare of our beloved donks, providing them with the care, attention, and love they deserve.
From feeding and grooming to monitoring their wellbeing, there's always plenty to do. Our team also works tirelessly to keep the farm well maintained, creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for both the donkeys and our visitors.
Their dedication often goes unnoticed, but the Sanctuary simply wouldn't be the same without them. A huge thank you to our amazing care staff for all they do, every single day.
