Behind every successful community project are the women who drive it forward. We are honored to work alongside powerful women leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who are shaping a brighter, more equitable future across our country. Throughout 2025 and into 2026, we continued putting women at the forefront of our programs, expanding our reach and deepening our impact in every community we serve. From sustainable local businesses to community-led initiatives, their dedication and resilience remain the heartbeat of our development work. Together, we are creating lasting change and building stronger communities from the ground up.

On 22 October 2026, our TCE SCM in Mopani met with 15 community members at Mariveni Village in Greater Tzaneen for an insightful small-group session for Mental Health Awareness Month. Under the theme "Pour into My Green Cup," the session opened vital conversations around emotional well-being, helping participants recognize the signs and symptoms of depression while exploring practical ways to manage mental health in daily life. Mental and physical health go hand in hand, and open, supportive spaces help communities heal and thrive together. Alongside the discussion, our team delivered integrated health services directly to the group. Through Psychosocial Support, 13 participants were screened for depression, anxiety, and PrEP adherence. All 15 clients accessed HIV testing services, 11 clients were successfully initiated on , and 3 received ongoing retention support. Additionally, 2 clients received STI treatment and family planning services. Thank you to the residents of Mariveni Village for welcoming us and taking proactive steps toward mental and physical health

On 21 October 2026, our CA MVC Giyani Team swiftly responded to a notification from Thomo Clinic about a confirmed malaria-positive case involving a 48-year-old resident of Thomo Village. To prevent further transmission, the team conducted a reactive case investigation and active case detection right on the ground. During active case detection, the team traced the index household and screened 13 members using Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs). Additionally, we provided health education to the family, focusing on malaria prevention, recognizing key signs and symptoms, and the importance of seeking early treatment at the clinic. Our team remains dedicated and will continue monitoring the area and following up on any further cases to keep our community safe

With the environmental challenges facing our communities, bold action is essential for protecting our shared future. Our Climate Change Centres have been actively running for two years to empower young people to lead the way in restoring the planet. Through hands-on activities like tree planting and sustainable farming, these initiatives go far beyond conservation to create a true lifeline for long-term food and water security. In 2025 alone, our projects reached 30,329 people across local communities, providing essential climate education and continuous support to help families thrive in a changing environment

Through the Clothes and Shoes Project, second-hand clothing becomes a powerful tool for sustainability and social development. By creating a circular system, the project diverts textiles from landfills while raising essential funds for health, education, climate action, and community initiatives. In 2025, the network of 60 collection containers gathered 107,000 kg of pre-loved clothing, showing the environmental and social savings possible through collective action. Residents in and around Westville can support this ongoing initiative by dropping off pre-loved clothing at the dedicated collection container located at Astron Atholl Heights (174 Rodger Sishi Road, Chiltern Hills, Durban). #𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝑨𝒏𝒅𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒆𝒔

Today, as we mark the International Day of Rural Women, we recognise rural women as powerful drivers of change, growing food, sustaining families, strengthening livelihoods, and building more resilient communities. Yet too many rural women still face barriers to land, resources, markets, and decision-making power. These barriers hold back not only women but entire communities, slowing down progress. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), women account for 42% of the global agrifood systems workforce, which totals 1.37 billion people. This shows that rural women are already contributing at scale. Now we must remove the barriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential. Now we must remove the barriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential. As Humana People to People in South Africa, we work alongside rural women and communities to strengthen skills, expand access to resources and opportunities, build resilient livelihoods, and create space for women to lead and shape decisions that affect their lives and communities
