Our First Cancer Walk – A Day of Hope, Love, Faith and Remembrance 🎗️🙏

With hearts filled with gratitude, we at Frances Hill Soup Kitchen & Aftercare would like to extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making our very first Cancer Walk a beautiful and meaningful success.

Today, we walked not only with our feet, but with our hearts. We walked in honour of those who have lost their battle against cancer, in support of those who are still fighting, and in remembrance of the families and friends whose lives have been touched by this difficult journey. 💗

To everyone who is currently fighting cancer, we want you to know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE! We stand with you in love, prayer, hope and encouragement. Although a cancer diagnosis may sometimes feel like a death sentence, please never lose hope. Your journey matters, your life is precious, and there are people who care deeply about you. Above all, always remember that with God, all things are possible. Keep believing, keep praying, and keep holding on to hope. 🙏✨

The rainy weather almost brought our Cancer Walk to a halt, but we were reminded once again that PRAYER IS THE KEY! 🌧️🙏 Even when circumstances seem uncertain, God reminds us that we can overcome challenges through faith, perseverance and unity. What could have been a cancelled event became a beautiful reminder of the power of prayer and the strength of a community that stands together.

A very special thank you goes to everyone who contributed towards this special event, whether through donations, assistance, encouragement, time, effort or simply by being present. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, helped make this day possible. Your kindness and generosity mean more to us than words can express.

To all the children who participated in the walk, thank you from the bottom of our hearts! 💕 Your enthusiasm, energy and willingness to be part of such a meaningful cause brought so much joy to the day. You reminded us that compassion, kindness and hope can be taught and shared from a young age.

To every participant, supporter, donor, volunteer, family member and friend who stood with us: THANK YOU! You helped us turn our first Cancer Walk into a day filled with love, unity, remembrance and hope. We are truly grateful to each and every one of you.

As we reflect on this special day, let us remember that we should not celebrate and appreciate our family and friends only on special occasions. Let us love them, support them, encourage them and cherish them every single day. Life is precious, time is a gift, and a simple act of kindness can mean more than we realise.

May we continue to stand together, pray together, support one another and spread hope wherever we go. May God bless every person who played a part in making this event a success, and may He strengthen every individual and family affected by cancer.

We may walk different journeys, but together we can walk in hope. 🎗️💗

Firstly, we would like to sincerely thank our Heavenly Father for making our Heritage Day celebration possible. Without His grace, guidance, provision, and love, we would not have been able to celebrate this special day. We also thank the Lord for making it possible for us to distribute food to members of the Zwelihle community and, in doing so, bring a little bit of hope, love, and care to those in need.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to every individual, business, organisation, and supporter who contributed in any way towards our Heritage Day Celebration 2026. Whether you donated food, funds, products, equipment, or any other form of support — every contribution played an important role in making this day possible.

We would also like to give a very special thank you to every person who gave of their valuable time to come and assist at Frances Hill Soup Kitchen. Your willingness to serve, prepare food, distribute meals, clean up, and simply lend a helping hand made an incredible difference. ❤️

Heritage Day reminds us that South Africa’s greatest strength lies in its people, cultures, languages, traditions, and diverse backgrounds. It is a day on which we celebrate one another’s heritage, but also remember that we can stand together as one community — with love, respect, unity, and care for one another.

At Frances Hill Soup Kitchen, we believe that true heritage is not only about what we have received from the past, but also about what we leave behind for the next generation. May our legacy be one of love, service, faith, compassion, and hope.
