👏⚽ A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR OUR FOOTBALL LADIES! ⚽👏

We are SO proud of our ladies’ football team for finishing the first round of the Women’s Regional League in the top four and securing a win in their final match before the break!

The ladies were scheduled to play two matches against Blackpool from De Doorns and Bonnievale. They received the points against Blackpool and secured maximum points against Bonnievale with an impressive 6-0 victory!

A special congratulations to Buhle Mbilane, who recorded her second hat-trick of the league, and Zandiswa Twele, who scored her first hat-trick for the team in the league.🥳🥳
What an achievement! 🙌🏽

Beyond the results, the real victory is seeing how much the team has grown. Their progress is reflected in their own words:

“Last year, we used to get big scores against us, but we never gave up. Now we are giving other teams big scores.”

That is what perseverance, discipline and consistent effort look like. The girls have continued to show up, learn from difficult matches and work towards becoming better players. Their journey is a reminder that progress takes time, and determination makes a difference.

Although the league is on a break, our ladies are not slowing down. They continue to practise as they prepare for the upcoming end-of-year indoor football tournament while also gearing up for their final examinations.

We are proud of you, ladies! Keep growing, keep learning and keep believing in yourselves. The future is bright! 💚⚽

⚽️ LAST DANCE FOR THE SEASON! ⚽️

Our Franschhoek Valley Community Sport Centre ladies' football team is preparing for their final two matches of the first round of the Women's Regional League!

The ladies head into these fixtures after two tough away defeats against Mbekweni Community Sport Centre and Worcester City. However, we choose to see these results as lessons, not losses. Every match is an opportunity to learn, grow and come back stronger. Our ladies are taking those lessons on board as they work towards more positive results.

FVCSC ladies, let's give this last dance our all! 💪🏽 Let's finish the year on a joyful note at Lentelus this coming Sunday. We believe in you!

A FRIDAY MORNING! 🥳🎶

Our Franschhoek Valley Community Sport Centre Catch-Up (CUP) YeBoneers received a wonderful surprise on Friday when former YeBoneer Tristan Williams returned to visit the team he started the year with.

Although Tristan had to leave the programme midway through 2026 for personal reasons, the friendships he built and the memories he made stayed with him. He returned to reconnect with his former teammates and see how everyone was doing.

But Tristan had another surprise up his sleeve! 🎤

He treated the group to a beautiful performance of Bob Marley's *Redemption Song*, leaving everyone astonished as they discovered a musical talent they never knew he had. What a voice! ❤️

Sometimes, the connections we build along the way stay with us long after our paths change. We are so glad Tristan came back to share this special moment with the team.

Well done, Tristan! We are looking forward to hearing more of your angelic voice at our upcoming YeBoneer graduation, where you will be joining us as a guest performer.

Keep sharing your gift with the world. You will always have a place at FVCSC! 💚

FROM OUR LADIES! ⚽💪🏾

The Franschhoek Valley Community Sport Centre is proud to celebrate the growth and improvement of our FVCSC FC ladies on the football field. Their hard work, dedication and resilience, week in and week out, are starting to show in the results!

When our ladies joined the Women's Regional League in 2025, they were one of the youngest and smallest squads in the competition. Most of our players were under 14, with only one senior player in the team. They had a lot to learn, but they were willing to put in the work.

Fast forward to this season, and look at the progress! Our ladies are now sitting in the top four of the league standings. 👏🏾🔥

One of the biggest improvements has been in their defence. A team that previously conceded several goals in matches has shown greater resilience and discipline this season. So far, they have conceded five goals against Battalions Ladies, three against Mbekweni Community Sport Centre and two against Stellenbosch FC Ladies.

And the goals are coming, too! ⚽ Our ladies have scored 13 goals in the league so far, with Buhle Mbilane leading the way as our top goalscorer with seven goals.

These numbers tell a story of growth, but behind every goal, every defensive effort and every result is a group of young players who continue to show up, learn and work towards becoming better footballers.

Well done to our FVCSC FC ladies and coaches. Keep believing in yourselves, keep putting in the work and keep making your community proud!

We are looking forward to the upcoming matches and, if all goes according to plan, a possible trip to Worcester City this weekend. 🤞🏾⚽

LET'S WELCOME BACK OUR FVCSC MALE NETBALL PLAYERS! 🏐💙

The regional colours look good on our boys! 💯

FVCSC proudly welcomes back our four male netball players who traveled to Nelson Mandela University in Gqeberha to represent the Cape Winelands Netball Federation at the 2026 National Netball Championships, held from 4 to 9 October.

The tournament brought together 52 teams, making it a valuable opportunity for our players to compete at national level, learn from others and showcase their talent.

For our male netball team that started just two years ago, reaching this stage is a remarkable achievement. The progress speaks for itself!

Look at the journey:
🏐 2024: One player selected for the regional team.
🏐 2025: Two players selected.
🏐 Early 2026: Three players selected.
🏐 2026 National Championships: Four players selected!

This is what consistent development, commitment and hard work look like! Each year, our players continue to grow, and more of them are earning opportunities to represent their region on a national stage.

A special congratulations to Henrico Moos, who received a recognition award on the first day of the tournament and earned a place in the Dream Team! What an achievement, Henrico! 👏🏾🏆

Well done to Henrico Moos, Yanga Sampana, Christopher Moos and Sidney Sampson! You have represented FVCSC with pride, and your journey is an inspiration to the young male players coming up behind you.

We also congratulate the entire Cape Winelands male netball team on finishing 5th in the tournament. It was a closely contested competition, and the team showed that they belong among the country's best.💫

To our players and coaches, keep pushing, keep learning, and keep raising the bar. This is only the beginning!🏐🔥🚀

💪🏾

From 28 September to 1 October 2026, our FVCSC YeBoneers took part in practice interviews designed to prepare them for the future.

Acing interviews is really important - it's what gets you that job, that place in a tertiary institution, that bursary, or that loan for your own business. These practice sessions gave our YeBoneers the opportunity to experience what a real interview feels like, to practice communicating their strengths, and to learn from feedback given by professionals.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all the volunteers who took time away from their daily responsibilities to give our young people this valuable experience! Your time, knowledge and willingness to share made these sessions so valuable!

Our YeBoneers have been building their confidence and workplace readiness through Future Fit Fridays, supported by their mentors. These practice interviews gave them an opportunity to put some of that learning into action - and they all felt this experience was extremely useful!

A special thank you to Emma Booth and Unathi Sakhawuli from Mont Rochelle, as well as our SCORE Director Stefan Howells, for coming to training sessions to help prepare our YeBoneers before the actual interviews took place.

And to all our interviewers and their companies, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for opening your doors and giving our YeBoneers a real chance to learn:

Your future starts with the steps you take today! 💪🏾

UNDER 17 STELLENBOSCH LFA KNOCKOUTS CHAMPIONS 2026! 🏆⚽🥳

What a way to finish the tournament!💫

The Franschhoek Valley Community Sport Centre would like to celebrate and congratulate our FVCSC FC U17 boys for being crowned the 2026 Stellenbosch Local Football Association Junior Knockouts champions! 🏆

And what a final it was! A Franschhoek derby against Franschhoek Spurs, with two teams made up of boys who have grown up together, played together in the streets and at the Centre, and now found themselves facing each other in a final with bragging rights on the line...

The match was tough and closely contested, eventually going all the way to penalties. Our boys held their nerve and secured the championship! 👏🏾⚽

Interestingly, the U17s also won their semi-final on penalties, so perhaps penalties have become their speciality this season! 😅

Well done to every player and coach for the hard work, resilience and sportsmanship shown throughout the tournament. What a special achievement for our U17s!

We also want to congratulate our U11 boys, who finished as runners-up after losing their final against Lokxion Stars on penalties.

Congratulations to Lokxion Stars on the win! And well done to our U11s for the sportsmanship and commitment you displayed throughout the tournament and the league. 👏🏾

Two finals. Two penalty shootouts. Plenty of lessons, memories and moments to be proud of!
