🌸 HAPPY WOMEN’S DAY FROM THUMA MINA INITIATIVE 🌸

Today, 9 August 2026, we honour and celebrate the strength, courage, resilience and contribution of women in our families, communities and society. ❤️💚💛

To every woman who serves, nurtures, leads, inspires and creates change — we see you, we appreciate you and we celebrate you.

May we continue to empower women, build stronger communities and create a better future together.

🚨 PUBLIC APPEAL: HELP US BUILD A SAFE HOME 🏠❤️

Today, we are asking the communities of Franschhoek to come together and make a real difference.

The Thuma Mina Initiative has identified a family living in unsafe conditions. Their home no longer protects them from the rain, and we believe that together we can help restore their dignity by building them a safe place to call home. Please share this post so that it reaches businesses, churches, organisations and individuals who are able to help.

"Ubuntu means we rise by lifting others. Together, we can build more than a shack—we can build hope."

✊🇿🇦 Happy Youth Day! 🇿🇦✊

Today we honour the bravery and sacrifice of the youth of 1976 who fought for a better future. Let us continue their legacy by standing together, leading with purpose, and building a brighter South Africa.

The youth are not the leaders of tomorrow only — they are the leaders of today!

Today Franschhoek experienced extremely bad weather that left many informal structures destroyed. It is heartbreaking to see families and children without roofs over their heads tonight. We have never seen this kind of weather in Franschhoek, where shacks were blown away one after another.

During this difficult time, we ask the community, businesses, and anyone who can assist to please lend a helping hand with food, blankets, clothing, building material, or any form of support.

If you would like to help, please contact us.
