The Human Upliftment Project (NPC)
The Human Upliftment Project (HUP) is a non-profit company and human rights organisation committed to advancing the human good. We aim to achieve constitutionally mandated human rights through our various outreach programs. In our efforts to strengthen the human condition we ensure that each of our projects aims to protect, preserve and progressively achieve the inviolable right to inherent dignity.
Our Projects include:
Social Justice Education Program (SJE) - In partnership with The Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution (CASAC), the SJE Program is a student created human rights curriculum for high school pupils and an exercise in decolonising the UCT Law curriculum. It aims to achieve the following:
The Right to Equality- By imparting onto pupils essential critical analysis and argument construction skills necessary for a successful University career. Placing the pupils at the same level as their wealthier peers. The Right to Education. We have partnered with The Litoro Foundation to create the HUPLitoro Scholarship. The Scholarship will fund the final year of high school for a committed and deserving pupil who successfully completes the SJE program.
