Good for you Virginia!

Good for you Virginia!

Two bills were signed by Governor Spanberger this week that severely limit local law enforcement’s cooperation with ICE.

This win makes Virginia communities SAFER, allowing for local law enforcement to focus on the needs of the community, not assisting in ICE’s abusive tactics.

Thank you, Alfonso Lopez, Senator Saddam Azlan Salim, and Abigail Spanberger for prioritizing the safety of all Virginians. Thank you to our partner organizations and every single person who spoke out!

Thank you to Md. Attorney General. Families belong together

I opposed a proposed federal rule that would effectively block mixed-status families from living in public housing or receiving housing assistance.

This would force families to choose between staying together or having a place to live.

Housing policies should support families, not separate them.

On April 29, the Supreme Court will hear arguments deciding the futures of TPS for Haiti, Syria, and possibly all 17 TPS countries, as the Trump administration is asking to make TPS decision-making unreviewable by the court system.

This could put more than 1.3 million people at risk of deportation back to unsafe conditions. But we’re fighting back!

Our friends at the Western MD Immigrant Rights Collective are in need of non-perishables to feed families they're supporting after their primary breadwinner was abducted by ICE. Their pantry is getting dangerously low and needs help from us to replenish supplies. Here's two ways you can help with this urgent community need:

🚨EMERGENCY DONATION COLLECTION: Drop off donations at Dublin Roasters between 230-330pm on Sunday.

💲 MONETARY HELP: If you're unable to stop by this weekend, consider donating to their GFM to help with grocery purchases: https://gofund.me/7318adfda

This beautiful community of ours has really rallied when it matters! Let's do it again :)
