Happy Reef Day!

Today is World Reef Day!

Covering only one per cent of the ocean floor, yet harbouring an estimated one-quarter of all marine life, reefs are one of the most diverse ecosystems on our planet. In this ecologically rich landscape, sharks are essential in maintaining the delicate balance, resilience and biodiversity of reef ecosystems. They regulate prey populations, reshape prey behaviour, and move important nutrients into reefs, coastlines and estuaries.
