As young climate leaders, our words matter when we are building movements and shaping the future. However, not everyone engaging in these spaces has the best intentions. Bad faith actors can spread disinformation or hijack narratives, taking control of conversations and shifting them away from what we initially set out to achieve.

Today, the team had a team-building session led by Kyoko Kimura Morgan , a Japanese artist, author and creative facilitator who shares Japanese culture through art, storytelling and the philosophy of Mottainai. (kyoko.co.za)

With so much calmness and grace, Kyoko guided us through a therapeutic and deeply artistic experience that allowed us to tap into our creative senses.

Together, we handcrafted our own journals and did the way of paper art,transforming recycled sheets of paper into 3D creations.

The session also introduced us to the philosophy of Mottainai: a Japanese concept that reminds us to value what we have and to avoid waste by appreciating the beauty, purpose and potential in every resource.

It was a gentle reminder to slow down, create with intention and appreciate both our time and the things we often overlook.
