IKhethelo Children's Village A Loving Community Raising Vulnerable Children to Wholeness

iKhethelo is a children’s village in KwaNyuswa, outside of Botha’s Hill in the Valley of a Thousand Hills, that is home to 48 vulnerable children that have been impacted by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. It is also a community hub that reaches out to empower, support, and love the surrounding impoverished communities at the epicenter of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Wow! What a race! 🚴‍♂️🔥

Today the Champions for Children team completed the incredible 271km Sani2C! What an unforgettable experience filled with grit, teamwork, tough climbs, sore legs, and amazing memories.

A massive THANK YOU to every single person who supported, sponsored, prayed for, encouraged, and followed the journey. Your support is helping us raise funds for better education and brighter futures for the children at Lily of the Valley and iKhethelo Children’s Villages.

Although the race is over, the need for education support continues. Our fundraising page remains open for anyone who would still like to contribute towards school fees and educational support for the children. Every gift, big or small, continues to make a real difference.

What a ride for Day 1 Sani2C. The Champions for Children’s team did well, Greg and I finished the 89km in 5:59m - last 20km was tough but thinking about my kids at the villages and why I am doing the ride kept me going. Tomorrow’s a big day - 96km. Thank you to everyone who has supported us 🙏

Hey guys ,In 2 days, I’ll be riding the Sani2C to raise funds for education for our kids at Lily and iKhethelo. It’s something close to my heart, and I’d love to have you be part of the journey with me—no pressure, just an invitation. Cheers Graeme Wright

As the cold sets in, we’re calling on our community to help bring warmth and comfort to the children at iKhethelo Children’s Village ❄️

We are collecting new or gently used winter clothing for boys and girls aged 3–20 years. Jackets, jerseys, hoodies, blankets, and shoes — every item makes a real difference in keeping a child warm this winter.

If you’re able to give, you’re not just donating clothes — you’re giving care, dignity, and love.

Recently we had our all together staff meeting where we played some team building games, looked at our values again and reminded ourselves of the need to be firmly planted in God.

🚴‍♂️ 2 Weeks to Go | Sani2C 2026 🚴‍♀️

In just 2 weeks, our Champions for Children team will take on the Sani2C MTB Race — a demanding 250km journey over 3 days.

But this ride is about more than endurance.
It’s about education, opportunity, and breaking the cycle of poverty.

🎯 Our Goal:
Sponsor every kilometre at R1000 per km
= R250,000 for education

👧🏽👦🏾 Every rand raised goes directly towards school fees and educational support for 130 children at iKhethelo and Lily of the Valley Children’s Village — giving them access to quality education and a brighter future.

You can be part of this journey:

✅ Sponsor 1km – R1000
✅ Sponsor ½ km – R500
✅ Or give any amount

💡 Every kilometre sponsored = a step closer to a child’s future.

Let’s come together and fill every kilometre.

75km. Hills that don’t quit. Purpose that won’t either.

Today the Champions for Children team took on a brutal 75km warm-up ride through the breathtaking Valley of a Thousand Hills — a place of incredible beauty, but also deep need.

This is where many of our children come from.
And it’s exactly why we ride.

Every climb is for a child who deserves a better education.
Every kilometre is for a future beyond poverty.
Every drop of sweat is about building brighter futures.

💛 You can be part of this journey.
Help a child break the cycle.

This little sweetie joined us at iKhethelo 2 days ago and he is finding the adjustment hard. But we are blessed to have beautiful moms like Aunty Fisani who give him the love and space he needs to get used to his new family.
