🚨 I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP — ANIMAL ANTICS IS STRUGGLING 🚨
I know everyone is struggling right now. I know times are hard for so many people, and I try my absolute best not to keep asking and asking. I try to carry as much as I can on my own.
But right now, I can't do this alone.
This month has been incredibly hectic for me personally. I've had family and personal matters that needed my attention, and because of that, I've been very quiet on Facebook and haven't posted nearly as many updates as I normally would.
But please know this:
The animals have NEVER come second.
They have continued to receive everything they need and deserve, regardless of what has been happening in my personal life.
I am one person trying to do it all, and sometimes social media falls by the wayside because posting on Facebook isn't my first priority — the animals are. ❤️
And now I've reached a point where I desperately need to ask for help.
🐾 LAYLA
Layla had her leg amputated, and her recovery has been absolutely incredible. She has healed beautifully and is now walking, playing and RUNNING around as though she never had four legs. ❤️
But I still owe Hillcrest Veterinary Hospital more than R15,000 for her operation and aftercare.
🐾 BLUE
Blue has been receiving laser treatment and physiotherapy three times a week, and I still owe MediVet for her treatment, as well as treatment for other dogs who have needed veterinary care.
🐾 I also owe SNIP for a sterilisation they did for us.
And then there is the immediate problem...
🚨 OUR FREEZER IS EMPTY. 🚨
We have NO PET MINCE LEFT.
We have enough tinned food FOR TONIGHT — and then it is finished.
Thankfully, we still have pellets for the doggos, but I desperately need to get pet mince, rice and tinned food to keep their meals going.
I buy pet mince from Bluff Meat Supply for only R15 per kg, which I cook with rice. Even a small donation can buy several kilograms and make an enormous difference.
And month-end is almost here.
Staff need to be paid.
Utilities need to be paid.
Our normal running expenses need to be covered.
Vet accounts need to be paid.
And I have three more dogs waiting to be sterilised.
There simply isn't money in the account to do it all.
And I need to say something that is incredibly difficult for me to admit.
The situation for rescues everywhere is becoming so dire that I am genuinely having to ask myself:
Do I keep going? Or do I find homes for the animals currently in my care and close Animal Antics Pet Rescue for good?
I don't want that.
This rescue is my heart and soul.
But I can't continue without support.
If Animal Antics closes, it isn't only the animals currently in our care who are affected. It's every animal we could have helped tomorrow, next week or next year.
It's also my staff. People who depend on these jobs to support themselves and their families.
That thought is weighing incredibly heavily on me.
I'm not a huge organisation. I don't have the enormous overheads that some of the bigger rescues have. But I do everything I possibly can with what I have.
I don't want to beg.
I don't want to plead.
I don't want every second post to be asking people for money.
But when the freezer is empty, the vet accounts are outstanding and there is nothing left in the bank account...
What else can I do? Who else do I turn to? 💔
I am working on a little something that I hope will start bringing in some much-needed funds for Animal Antics. I'll be rolling that idea out this week, and I'm praying that people will support it so that we can start creating a more sustainable income for the rescue.
But right now, today, I desperately need your help.
