South Africa is once again confronted with the devastating reality of violence. The recent deaths of women in Gauteng have left families grieving, communities fearful, and the nation asking difficult questions about the safety and dignity.
Our conference theme this year is Gender-Based Violence. We believe that music is more than entertainment. Music can give voice to pain, raise awareness, challenge harmful attitudes, bring communities together, and inspire change.
Through our voices, we remember those whose lives have been taken, stand with survivors and families affected by GBV, and call on our communities to reject violence in all its forms.
This year, we sing not only for musical excellence, but for awareness, dignity, safety, justice and change.
