🤟 A Step Towards a More Inclusive Society
The “Empowering Civil Society with Basic Sign Language Skills” training course concluded at Al-Sumou Training Hall in Aden after eight days of training. The course was funded by the Humanitarian Eminence Organization for Relief and Development (HEED) and implemented by the Sign Language Unites Us Initiative (SLU Initiative), with the participation of 18 trainees.
📚 During the course, participants gained essential knowledge and practical skills in sign language, strengthening their ability to communicate with people with hearing disabilities, reduce communication barriers, and support their meaningful participation in society.
🎯 The course forms part of ongoing efforts to build community capacity in sign language, promote inclusive communication practices, and reinforce the principles of inclusion and accessibility in community work.
📜 At the conclusion of the course, certificates were awarded to the participants in recognition of their commitment and active engagement throughout the training.
