Completion of the First Training Cohort for Local Civil Society Organizations on Institutional Assessment Using the Taking the Lead (TTL) Methodology
Afaq Shababia Foundation, in partnership with Oxfam, with funding from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and in collaboration with Bioforce, successfully concluded the online Taking the Lead (TTL) training for the first cohort under the BALADI Project, with the participation of representatives from 14 civil society organizations across the governorates of Aden, Lahj, Abyan, Al Dhale’e, Taiz, Marib, and Hadramout.
The four-day online training, conducted via Zoom, focused on strengthening the institutional capacities of local organizations by introducing participants to the TTL methodology and its tools, guiding them through the institutional self-assessment process, and supporting them in identifying priority capacity-building areas and institutional development needs. This serves as a foundation for the next phase, which includes in-depth organizational assessments and the development of institutional improvement plans.
The training was coordinated on behalf of Bioforce by Ms. Corinne Saqr, while the training sessions were delivered by Ms. Jeannot Barakat and Mr. Mohammed Houda. The training concluded with the participation of Mr. Moath Jamal from Oxfam and Ms. Weam Saif from Afaq Shababia Foundation.
This training forms part of the BALADI Project's ongoing efforts to empower local and national actors to lead gender-responsive humanitarian and development action in Yemen.
