We are a 55+ senior group who meet at the Lower Makefield Community Center on 1550 Oxford Valley Road. We have group activities and trips throughout the year.

Our Monthly Meet & Greet is held the second Tuesday of every month, except July and August, at 10:00 am in the New community center

# # A Winning Day at the Races!

On Friday, August 28, a group of LMS seniors and friends headed off to the races—at Monmouth Park and what a winning day it turned out to be!

Although no one came home with a big-money prize, we did return with something even better: a bus full of happy people who enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon with wonderful friends. We cheered our way through six exciting races, enthusiastically rooting for our picks to cross the finish line first.

For those of us who were first-time racegoers, it was also an educational experience, thanks to Russ Bukwa’s excellent tutorship. The buffet was delicious, and our private room offered a fantastic view, situated right above the horses’ entrance to the track and close to the finish line so we got to see the exciting moments.

All in all, it was a perfect day—great weather, good food, wonderful company, and plenty of fun. This terrific outing is yet another feather in the cap of our Trip Committee.

Join the Lower Makefield Seniors for a FREE Lunch & Learn event – “Leaving a Blessing, NOT a Burden” on Thursday, September 17th from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lower Makefield Township Community Center, 1550 Oxford Valley Road, Yardley, PA 19067.

This informative seminar is open to the public. Scott Mitchell, Advanced Planning Counselor with Life Celebration by Givnish, will cover essential topics including:

• Organizing your important documents
• Medicaid and asset protection
• The five-year look back period
• How to leave more to your family – tax free
• Veterans’ benefits
• The advantages of pre-planning your funeral and final expenses

Space is limited, so we encourage registering early. Registration deadline is September 13th. The attached registration form can be completed and mailed to the Lower Makefield Seniors c/o of the Lower Makefield Township Community Center (address above). {Registration forms can also be found on our website:

SEPTEMBER MEET & GREET
As summer winds down and the kids head back to school, the Lower Makefield Seniors are gearing up to dive back into our lively community events! Our September 8th Meet & Greet promises to be filled with both fun and education.

In today’s world, understanding your voting rights is more important than ever. That’s why we’ve invited The League of Women Voters, a trusted non-partisan organization, to join us. They’ll provide valuable information about voting processes and rights, and be on hand to assist anyone who needs help filing voter registration or mail-in ballot applications that they will take directly to the Board of Elections in Doylestown.

But it’s not all serious business! Get ready to laugh and compete in our “Sing in the Lyric” game, a Jeopardy-style contest guaranteed to brighten your day being lead by Dave Bailey (Sales Director@The Re*****on of Yardley). Following the program, we'll enjoy a light lunch and the chance to reconnect with friends old and new.

If you’re 55 or older and interested in joining us for this event—or any future Meet & Greet—you don’t have to be a member to attend. Just email us at [email protected] with your full name and phone number, and we’ll be happy to welcome you.

Our Monthly Meet & Greets happen every second Tuesday (except July, August, and December) at 9:45 AM in the Lower Makefield Community Center. Each gathering includes a brief business meeting, an inspiring guest speaker or program, and a delicious light lunch.

Lower Makefield Seniors October trip to Jim Thorpe, PA is "SOLD OUT".

We’re thrilled to announce that the LMSeniors October 22nd trip to Jim Thorpe has been a complete success! As of August 15th, all seats have been purchased—thank you for your enthusiastic response!

Please remember, your registration is only confirmed once payment is received. To guarantee your spot on upcoming trips, we encourage you to complete your reservation form along with your payment as soon as possible.

On July 9th, the Lower Makefield Seniors had a wonderful day trip to Lancaster to see the exceptional WEST SIDE STORY at the remarkable historic Fulton Theatre. The actors, music, production and staging were of Broadway quality. Lunch was at Shady Maple Smorgasbord. Always a favorite dining experience.

We hope to see you on a future trip. Non-members are welcome to join us.
