Friends Of Lake Afton

Friends Of Lake Afton FOLA, a non-profit organization, has been improving, maintaining and preserving Lake Afton since 1969 But, the future of the Lake is in jeopardy.

Lake Afton is in need of volunteers and financial support to improve the health and long-term existence of the Lake. Currently home to a wide variety of local wild life, Lake Afton is also an important and beautiful treasured landmark to the borough of Yardley. During the summer months, families often visit the Lake to feed the ducks or fish off its banks. During the coldest of days in the winter

months, the Lake is often filled with families enjoying the lake for a casual ice skate or more competitive ice hockey. Each year, as the Lake grows more and more shallow, it becomes increasingly more difficult to sustain a healthy habitat. Not only is this impacting the health and existence of the Lake’s wildlife inhabitants, it also has negative implications for residents who enjoy the unique charm and opportunities for family-fun and small-town feeling that the Lake brings to Yardley.

I am so grateful for FOLA’s great board members, plus a phenomenal group of volunteers, and the awesome PHS National Honor Society students who helped make our All Things Yardley Gift Shop event yesterday a successful event! Yesterday was Friends of Lake Afton’s FIFTH YEAR hosting this popular Yardley Borough event!

Also, a big thank you to everyone who came to the event to support FOLA!

As always, 100% of the proceeds from our events are donated to FOLA to help improve, protect and maintain Lake Afton, our town jewel.
