Good morning, brothers! This is Matthew Laubsch, Worshipful Master of Newtown Lodge No. 427, bringing you a few important reminders before we set sail into our summer break. I suppose you could say things are ‘heating up’, so pay close attention! First, we will be holding our June stated meeting on Wednesday, June 10th, beginning at 7:00 PM. Prior to the start of this meeting, we will be hosting our Masonic scholarship award recipients inside of our main lodge hall promptly at 6:30 PM. Please make it an effort to come out & help show your support for these high school graduates, as some of them might become worthy contenders for the fraternity in the future! Also, there will be a table lodge ceremony in the dining hall as part of our meal for the evening, which will consist of pot roast, mashed butternut squash, carrots, succotash, corn bread, and strawberries & ice cream for dessert. If you have never witnessed something like this being done before, I highly encourage you to check it out!
Additionally, I’m pleased to inform you that there will be another opportunity to see a degree conferral in our neighboring jurisdiction, despite the Prince Hall 3rd degree cancellation! Our friends over at Beverly-Riverside Lodge No. 107 in Riverside, NJ will be performing the Fellowcraft degree on the very next night after our June stated meeting, which will be Thursday, June 11th, beginning at 7:00 PM, with their dinner being served at 6:00. The address to this lodge is 621 South Chester Avenue, Riverside, NJ 08075. For those brethren who haven’t yet watched one of the craft degrees outside of Pennsylvania, I would recommend attending that night if your schedule permits! Dress code for all visiting guests will simply be a dark suit & tie, and I will be bringing extra Newtown Lodge aprons to wear just in case. For anyone looking to join me that evening, please either contact me via email or give me a call/text to help lock in your reservation. This invite is also extended to the other members of the great 8th Masonic district, so let’s try to show as much brotherly love & support as we possibly can!
Finally, if you are a new Master Mason & are interested in completing the Master Builder program, please be sure to keep your requirement checklist with you so that I can sign off on it. Thank you so much for tuning in, and have a great rest of your Friday!
