Hello, brothers! This is Matthew Laubsch, Worshipful Master of Newtown Lodge No. 427, hopping on real quick to inform you of a couple worthwhile activities taking place for the week. Firstly, don’t forget that District 8 will be having our monthly School of Instruction meeting at Newtown Lodge this evening, June 15th, starting at 7:30 PM, with a tasty catered meal in the dining hall at 6:30 PM before we start. All elected & appointed officers are encouraged to attend, along with any newer members of the fraternity across all degree levels! Come on out, hang with your fellow brethren, and start thinking about any parts of lodge ritual you might want to start learning.

Also, Newtown Lodge is proud to kick off our first outdoor summer movie night for the year! We will be showing Tangled right on our property this Saturday, June 20th, starting at dusk. As in years past, all movies are completely free & open to the general public, including families, friends, neighbors, or anyone else who wants to stop by and join in on the action! There will be fresh, homemade popcorn available, plus all sorts of candy & cold beverages of your choosing. For anyone interested in attending, please don’t hesitate to call me directly.

Thank you all so much for all that you do for our lodge & the rest of the fraternity; your efforts will never go unnoticed. Stay cool out there, be nice to each other, and I hope to reconnect with you soon!

Good morning, brothers! This is Matthew Laubsch, Worshipful Master of Newtown Lodge No. 427, bringing you a few important reminders before we set sail into our summer break. I suppose you could say things are ‘heating up’, so pay close attention! First, we will be holding our June stated meeting on Wednesday, June 10th, beginning at 7:00 PM. Prior to the start of this meeting, we will be hosting our Masonic scholarship award recipients inside of our main lodge hall promptly at 6:30 PM. Please make it an effort to come out & help show your support for these high school graduates, as some of them might become worthy contenders for the fraternity in the future! Also, there will be a table lodge ceremony in the dining hall as part of our meal for the evening, which will consist of pot roast, mashed butternut squash, carrots, succotash, corn bread, and strawberries & ice cream for dessert. If you have never witnessed something like this being done before, I highly encourage you to check it out!

Additionally, I’m pleased to inform you that there will be another opportunity to see a degree conferral in our neighboring jurisdiction, despite the Prince Hall 3rd degree cancellation! Our friends over at Beverly-Riverside Lodge No. 107 in Riverside, NJ will be performing the Fellowcraft degree on the very next night after our June stated meeting, which will be Thursday, June 11th, beginning at 7:00 PM, with their dinner being served at 6:00. The address to this lodge is 621 South Chester Avenue, Riverside, NJ 08075. For those brethren who haven’t yet watched one of the craft degrees outside of Pennsylvania, I would recommend attending that night if your schedule permits! Dress code for all visiting guests will simply be a dark suit & tie, and I will be bringing extra Newtown Lodge aprons to wear just in case. For anyone looking to join me that evening, please either contact me via email or give me a call/text to help lock in your reservation. This invite is also extended to the other members of the great 8th Masonic district, so let’s try to show as much brotherly love & support as we possibly can!

Finally, if you are a new Master Mason & are interested in completing the Master Builder program, please be sure to keep your requirement checklist with you so that I can sign off on it. Thank you so much for tuning in, and have a great rest of your Friday!

Good morning, my brothers! This is Matthew Laubsch, Worshipful Master of Newtown Lodge No. 427, putting out a real quick reminder about our upcoming rehearsal meeting, which will be our last table lodge practice session before we have our June stated meeting. This will be taking place tomorrow, June 3rd, beginning at 7:00 PM. Please try to carve out some time in your schedule to attend this rehearsal, as our table lodge ceremony will be a very special & memorable event for us all, and must be performed with confidence.
That’s all I have for you at the moment. Take care of yourselves, be nice to each other, and continue to spread brotherly love & affection! See you all soon.

Greetings, brethren. This is Matthew Laubsch, your Worshipful Master of Newtown Lodge No. 427. If you have not already read the blast email that was dispersed throughout our district, it is my sad duty to inform you all that the upcoming Prince Hall 3rd degree conferral at Aaron Lodge No. 9 has been canceled. This, too, comes at very short notice, and I deeply apologize for it. However, on the flip side, there will still be another opportunity to see a degree in the same neighboring jurisdiction! Our friends over at Beverly-Riverside Lodge No. 107 of Riverside, NJ will be conferring the Fellowcraft degree on the night after our next stated meeting, which will be Thursday, June 11th, beginning at 7:00 PM, with dinner being served beforehand at 6:00. Their address is 621 South Chester Avenue, Riverside, NJ 08075. For those of you who haven’t watched something like this before, I highly suggest attending that evening if you’re able to. The dress code will just be a dark suit & tie, and I will still be bringing extra Newtown Lodge No. 427 aprons to wear in case you need one. For anyone interested in joining me that evening, please either contact me via email or give me a call to help secure your reservation. This invite is also extended to the other members of District 8, so let’s try to bounce back from this sudden cancellation & help show our support! Thank you for tuning in, and looking forward to reuniting again soon!

Good evening, my brothers! This is Matthew Laubsch, Worshipful Master of Newtown Lodge No. 427. I hope you’ve all been having an enjoyable Memorial Day holiday. As we sit here and reflect back on what makes this day so special to us, let us not forget the lives of those who risked it all for the betterment of our great country & the unwavering commitment they adhered to.

Just wanted to give you all a few quick reminders as we move through the last full week of May. First, we will be having another practice session for our June table lodge this Wednesday, May 27th, beginning at 7 PM. If you’re able to come meet with us that night, please mark your calendars & try setting aside time in your schedules, as it’s not too often that we hold special events such as this one. We will mainly be going over seating arrangements & the overall flow between each of the 3 toasts. For those of you who would like to invite Masons from other jurisdictions (in the tri-state area or elsewhere) to attend our table lodge next month, you’re more than welcome to do so as well.

Furthermore, there is an upcoming opportunity to attend a Prince Hall degree right over the river! Aaron Lodge No. 9 of Hamilton, NJ will be conferring the Master Mason degree this upcoming Saturday, May 30th, starting promptly at 12:00 noon, with their meal being served at the conclusion of this degree. These gentlemen are located at 10 Rennie Street, Hamilton Township, NJ 08610. If you have never seen anything like this done before, I STRONGLY encourage you all to try attending that day if time permits. Prince Hall ritual is truly something to behold, and as part of my many initiatives as your Worshipful Master for 2026, I’d like to foster as much engagement & brotherly love as possible between our neighboring jurisdictions. The dress code for this degree will be a dark suit & tie, with the elected officers requested to wear full tuxes & regalia. I will be bringing extra Newtown Lodge aprons to wear, should you need one. For anyone interested in partaking with me that afternoon, please register online through our Grand View system by logging on, clicking the Events tab, and confirming your RSVP via the embedded calendar. This invite is also extended to the other members of the 8th Masonic district, so let’s try to pack the house and represent in style!

Last, but certainly not least, if you have just been raised to the 3rd degree in Freemasonry within the past year & are setting out to achieve the prestigious Master Builder award, please make sure to keep your requirement checklist handy so that I can sign off on it. Thank you, brethren, for all that you do for our great fraternity, and I hope to see you all very shortly!

Good morning, everyone! This is your Worshipful Master Matthew Laubsch giving you all a quick reminder of our upcoming District 8 School of Instruction night, which is taking place at our lodge this evening, May 18th, starting at 7:00 PM. Yes, that’s correct: We’ll be starting a half hour ahead of schedule in order to make way for brother Steven Shimp, District Deputy Grand Master at Large, to present his program to us, which will be about the Masonic Engagement & Revitalization Committee, new member inquiries, and the REACT team—an ongoing project tailored to help reorganize & assist struggling lodges to help them become the best they can be. With that being said, you’re also more than welcome to partake in a catered meal being held in our dining hall at 6:00 before the start of the meeting.

In addition, we will also be holding a practice session for next month’s table lodge this Wednesday, May 20th, beginning at 7 PM. Please make every effort to attend if you’re able to, as this is a very special ceremony that requires a lot of planning & rehearsing in order to pull off successfully.

Finally, my brothers, for those of you who’ve recently been conferred the 3rd degree in Freemasonry & are looking to achieve the Master Builder award, please bring your requirement checklist with you so that I can sign off on any open requirements you may have. That’s all I have for you right now, and with that, I hope to reconvene with you all very soon! Thank you.

Hello, brethren! This is Matthew Laubsch, Worshipful Master, hoping you & your family had a happy Mother’s Day! While our mission throughout the fraternity is to make good men better, we should always take some time to thank all of the motherly figures in our lives who’ve served as powerful role models and helped shape us into the brothers we are today.

Furthermore, I wanted to give you all a brief reminder of our May stated meeting, which will be taking place tomorrow night, May 13th, starting at 7 PM. The program for the evening will be a presentation from brother Anthony Dintino III about why the north side of the lodge room is dark; an exciting topic I’m sure you won’t want to miss! There’ll also be a Memorial Day-themed meal served in the dining hall at 6 PM prior to the start of the meeting, which will include hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, potato salad, and strawberry shortcake for dessert. If you haven’t been out in a while, come catch up with us and enjoy some fine company with the rest of the brothers- you just might learn something new!

In addition, Newtown Lodge is holding a tour of Yards Brewery this upcoming Saturday, May 16th at 3 PM in Philadelphia! The cost is $10 cash per person, and spots are almost all taken up. If you would like to join us that day, please either contact me via email, give me a call, or come see me on the night of our stated meeting to reserve a ticket.

Lastly, if you’ve recently been raised to the 3rd degree & are trying to obtain the Master Builder award, please keep your requirement checklist with you so I can sign off on it. Thank you, my brothers, and I hope to see you all again very soon!
