BIG NEWS! FFHA has written a children's book about the magic of art in hospitals and YOU are invited to our book launch. Drop in on November 12th between 6pm-9pm for a book signing, food, and fun. All proceeds will be used to brighten the walls of hospitals and bring joy to patients.

Putting people first means giving back to the local organizations that invest in our communities and the lives of our neighbors. Here are a few recent partnerships supported by the Bearingstar Charitable Fund:

- Uganda Farmers, Inc.: Team Bearingstar members Gerard Robles, Kathy Piro, Miggs Surgenor, Tony Cervone, Barb Perani, and Jen Lajoie laced up their sneakers at Walnut Beach to sponsor and complete the 5K Walk/Run, raising funds to bring clean drinking water to Ugandan villages.

- Rallye for Pancreatic Cancer: Jen Lajoie also helped sponsor the 9th annual Mark Schlegel Memorial Car Show in Norwalk to help raise awareness for one of the deadliest diseases.

- ALS United Connecticut: Dana Quigley, Lisa Morley, and Miggs Surgenor presented a $1,000 contribution to ALS United CT to support their ongoing mission of providing care, advocacy, and hope for local families affected by ALS.

- Foundation for Hospital Art: Laura Gaspar, Christine Souza, Paula Wagner, Natalie Thibault, Courtney Knowlton, Christina Boucher, and David Levine put their creativity to work through a volunteer art project, creating colorful paintings to help make hospital environments a little brighter and more welcoming for patients, families, and staff.

A huge thank you to everyone from Team Bearingstar who participated and to these organizations for their dedication to these meaningful causes!
