On June 16, 2026, Sikyong Penpa Tsering la, leader of the Central Tibetan Administration, arrived in the United States Capitol region on an official visit. President Karma Chozom la of RTWA-NYNJ warmly received and welcomed him at the New York Airport. We extend our heartfelt greetings and wish His Excellency a successful and fruitful visit and express our continued commitment to the Tibetan cause. 🙏❤️💛

The Regional Tibetan Women’s Association NYNJ extends its heartfelt condolences on the passing of Professor Robert A.F. Thurman, a longtime friend of Tibet, distinguished American Buddhist scholar, co founder of Tibet House U.S., author, and translator.

For decades, Professor Thurman dedicated his life to preserving and promoting Tibetan culture, Buddhist philosophy, and the universal values of compassion and wisdom. His teachings and tireless advocacy touched countless lives and strengthened the bond between Tibet and people around the world.

We offer our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and all who were inspired by his extraordinary life and legacy. May his noble deeds continue to benefit sentient beings and serve as a source of inspiration for generations to come.

🕯️ In Loving Memory of Lhasang Tsering (1952–2025)

The Regional Tibetan Women’s Association of New York & New Jersey (RTWA-NYNJ) extends its heartfelt condolences on the passing of Lhasang Tsering la, a veteran Tibetan independence activist, poet, writer, and one of the most influential voices of the Tibetan freedom movement.

Born in western Tibet in 1952, Lhasang Tsering la dedicated his life to the cause of Tibetan independence and the intellectual and cultural development of Tibetans in exile. A steadfast advocate for freedom and independent thought, he inspired generations through his courage, conviction, and literary works.

As co founder of the Amnye Machen Institute and founder of Bookworm, the first bookstore in McLeod Ganj, he helped foster a culture of reading and intellectual discourse among Tibetans in exile.

His passing marks the loss of a fearless voice and a lasting legacy for Tibet.

We offer our prayers and deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May the merit of his lifelong service continue to benefit all beings, and may his legacy inspire future generations.

At the 41st International Cultures & Immigrants Parade, we proudly celebrated the beauty, resilience, and rich heritage of Tibet.
Huge gratitude to everyone who showed up, supported, and stood in solidarity with the Tibetan community. 😇🤗🙏🏼Your presence helped carry forward a message that continues to inspire hope across generations.

TIBET IS NOT CHINA! 🙌🏼

That’s why we take part in events like this, to keep our identity alive and raise awareness that Tibet remains under occupation, while its people continue to hold on to their dream of a free country.
For us, this wasn’t just culture on display. It was history, identity, and resistance all in one. A reminder that the voice of Tibet is still strong and very much alive. 😊

On behalf of the Regional Tibetan Women’s Association of New York & New Jersey, our President and Joint Secretary attended and witnessed the election of the 19th Executive Members of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress of New York & New Jersey on June 1, 2026. Subsequently, on June 7, 2026, our Religious Coordinator and Cultural Coordinator attended the Oath-Taking Ceremony of the newly elected Executive Members. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the new leadership and wish them every success in their service to the Tibetan cause and community.

On May 26, 2026, under the gracious presence of His Holiness Gongma Trichen Rinpochen, and His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trinzin, the opening ceremony of the 11th Maha Guru Bumtsok and the celebration marking the 25th anniversary of the founding of Tsechen Association were held.
On behalf of the Regional Tibetan Women’s Association of New York & New Jersey, the Religious and Cultural Liaison Officer attended the event and offered participation in the commemorative celebrations.

From May 23 to May 25, 2026, during the Gyalyum Chenmo Memorial Gold Cup Soccer Tournament held in New York, North America, the Regional Tibetan Women’s Association of New York and New Jersey was represented by its President and the Public Relations Officers, who participated as invited guests in the event. we would like to thank the organizers for their kind invitation.
