Since 2020, the city of Berlin, Germany has been operating an app to help people volunteer to “adopt” urban trees.

The team at Technologiestiftung Berlin has made the code for their tree adoption app free and open-source. They also offer technical support for new cities seeking guidance on how to set up their own urban tree adoption apps.

In addition to often functioning as community centers and polling places, schools account for 60% of all FEMA-designated relief shelters in Virginia and around half nationwide. No matter what disasters may strike in the future, equipping towns with their own local source of reliable clean energy will help communities withstand them.

State leaders have multiple policy options to help accelerate the deployment of solar/battery microgrids for schools! Urge them to take action!

We can’t limit overshoot by locking in more emissions. A gas plant or pipeline built today runs for decades. Congress controls the subsidies, permits and budgets that decide whether those projects get built.

The world has failed in its goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C above preindustrial times. Big Oil got us here. 😠

Executives at BP, Chevron, Exxon, Shell, and other major fossil fuel companies knew decades ago that burning fossil fuels would lead to “globally catastrophic” climate change, but instead spent billions burying the science, promoting climate denialism, and blocking the transition to cleaner energy sources.

A new assessment by the United Nations warns that the world is now "certain" to breach the 1.5°C warming threshold set by the Paris Agreement.

Big Oil must be held accountable.
