Over a decade ago, Music Heals International set out with a belief that music could heal. Today, thousands of children across three countries have found confidence, belonging, and hope through their programs.

Grateful Guitars Foundation shares that same conviction, that the right instrument in the right hands creates something that ripples outward for generations. Their work ensures the tradition of live music survives, thrives, and inspires.

On June 25th, both organizations celebrate a decade of impact with a night that honors exactly what music can do in celebration of the songbook of Weir/Wasserman performed on their original instruments.

We’re thrilled to announce the unveiling of the official Jerry Day 2026 artwork — along with the release of our newest donor packages in support of this beloved San Francisco tradition and cultural asset.

Jerry Day 2026 takes place on August 1st at the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater in McLaren Park, marking nearly 24 years of music, building community, and a civic and cultural celebration in the city we love. More than a concert, is a gathering rooted in generosity, creativity, and the enduring spirit of Jerry Garcia — carried forward by neighbors, artists, families, and fans from near and far.

The 2026 artwork captures that joy and connection — honoring what came before while pointing toward another unforgettable day in the park.

As we prepare for this next chapter, we’re also exploring new avenues of funding and expanding our donor community — while keeping donor package pricing consistent with the past few years. These packages are a vital way to help ensure Jerry Day remains a free and inclusive event for all.

The auction is LIVE.

The Doug Irwin-designed “Dire Wolf” bass, handcrafted by Asher Guitars and Lap Steels, donated, played and signed by Oteil Burbridge is now open to bidding! We've also added a rare Jay Blakesberg Photography signed outtake print and book package as well as a personal Jam Room tour of GGF founder Andy Logan’s private collection (including Alligator!) to the auction benefiting GGF and Music Heals International.

But before you place your bid, here's what your dollars will do:

→ Grateful Guitars Foundation will use its share to put world-class instruments into the hands of talented players keeping jam band music alive and to fund music education for underserved youth across the country.

→ Music Heals International will use its share in Haiti, India, and Venezuela, where music is giving children a way through trauma, poverty, and instability, and training local leaders to carry that work forward.

Oteil donated this bass, played it, and signed it. He gave it forward so that this work could continue.

Now it's your turn.

In the fall of 1988, Bob Weir and Rob Wasserman found something rare: a musical partnership that was, in Weir's own words, full of warmth.
As a duo, they carved out something intimate and exploratory. Wasserman's upright bass, played with an unamplified bow, gave Weir the freedom to stretch out on acoustic guitar weaving through Grateful Dead classics like "Throwing Stones" and "Victim or the Crime" alongside unexpected, eclectic covers.

That duo eventually grew into RatDog, but the songbook they built together is spacious, soulful, and completely their own, and has never stopped resonating.

On June 25th, that songbook comes back to life at Sweetwater Music Hall, performed on their original instruments. It's an evening presented by Grateful Guitars Foundation and Music Heals International - two organizations that share the same belief: that music, at its best, connects us to something that lasts.

On Friday, July 3, we look forward to a sizzling summer concert in King Of Prussia's Heuser Park, where we will present a $5,000 donation to Say Yes Philly!, a boots on the ground organization that is working with underserved communities, tailoring services to any community based on direct advising and collaboration with educators and community leaders from the neighborhood. The organization is founded by Vince Johnson, a local artist who has an intimate understanding of the needs of artists operating on a local and low resourced level.
Also at the show, GGF will be honoring Splintered Sunlight guitarist Mike Kennedy with a special instrument, celebrating his endless contributions to keeping the community alive! This celebration will be all about giving back ♥️
